Soba is delicious! And definitely healthy. Refreshing. Good service as well.
Halal Chinese Xinjiang restaurant?! 👀 Head over to Restaurant Aisyah on Arab Street, famed for its handmade pulled noodles and tender braised mutton! #BurppleBeyond members, enjoy 20% off when you order any two noodle dishes.
Must-try: The Spicy Dry Beef Noodles — perfect for spice lovers! These noodles are a steal, especially with leek leaves adding extra flavour and a fiery kick. And don’t miss the Chili Oil Dumplings! These generously filled, thin-skinned dumplings come with your choice of chicken, beef, or mutton.

We were told if we added too much salt, they could add soup for us to balance it out. Halfway through, we enquired if we could get a bit more soup & were told "其实我们这里是不可以加汤的" ("actually you can't just add soup like that")..... So I guess there's a pro-tip for you right there. Add a lot of salt at the start, if you want more soup? 🤷🏻♀️ Seems like it's a matter of principle... There's a first time for everything, I suppose.
In all, a confusing experience & I didn't particularly enjoy the food. The fresh kimchi was pretty good, but that's not enough to make me want to return.
Was looking forward to having some Ox Bone Soup here, per their namesake, but instead was disappointed this didn't feature on their menu.
Ordered 2 soups - Seoul Beef Soup & Half Chicken Soup ($15.90+ each), as I thought in similar fashion, the soups would be good..... They weren't, IMHO. They were very bland. Granted, these soups are made without MSG & you are advised to add your own salt & pepper table-side, but they were overall very lacklustre.
Craving some spice?
Head over to Masala Tandoor on East Coast Rd for a fusion of traditional North Indian flavours with a modern twist.
Tucked away in a cosy corner of the coffee shop, this hidden gem serves up affordable, authentic North Indian dishes that’ll keep you coming back for more!
#Burpplebeyond fam, don’t miss out on their 1-for-1 main dish deal—it’s too good to pass up! Try their fragrant biryani, packed with flavour and generous portions. And the butter chicken? Out of this world. Tender, rich, and pure perfection!
Ordered the lunch set here and we thought it was quite ok. Less than $10 for a main and drink in aircon (rare in this economy)
The Tomyum fried rice is not bad! Pineapple fried rice is also quite good. Found the kway teow not to my liking (but personal).
Please note that they say each table can only use one voucher (no matter the size)
Decent affordable place. Ordered the moo ping and found it quite tasty. ($12 for 2 set of 4)
We were expecting something that we could buy from supermarket but it was pleasantly different.
Would come back again since the lunch set is quite ok.
Please note that they say each table can only use one voucher (no matter the size)
Brought my mum to Nanyang Dao and this is so far our best meal at Nanyang Dao! Ate here probably 5 times already (different outlets)
This time we ordered different Mains from before and I think they are new dishes as I’ve not seen them previously. Both mains are good, both of our coffee are also perfect.
They now have a display shelf of homemade sambal, merchant like coffee, pineapple pastry and even kek lapis available for sale!
➊ Ayam Goreng Berempah Nasi Lemak S$10.90 - nicely fried chicken and tender meat, fragrant nasi.
➋ Mee Siam Dry Curry Chicken S$9.90 - the Mee Siam is not the sweet version like others, which we enjoyed better and its served with curry chicken.
➌ HomeTown Prawn Paste Chicken Wing S$10.80
➍ Penang Lobak S$6.90 - I usually don’t go for ngoh hiang kind of food but mum wanted to try and surprisingly I actually enjoyed this! Probably the spices not too overpowering.
➎ Butter Polo Bun S$4.80 - they changed from condensed milk to honey. But most important is the butter slices that’s kept cold with the ice cubes served together.
➏ Egg Tart S$2.35 each
➐ Chendol S$3.50 - we request no gula melaka and the staff kindly followed our request. 💯
➑ Iced NanYang White Coffee S$4 - not sure if this is also new. I always go for the bear drinks but this shall be my usual order from now! There’s a choice of less sweet but actually it’s still sweet, not complaining though.
➒ Coffee-C S$2.10 - by far the best coffee out of all the Hainan / Nayang coffee places!
Really nice flavours n the mangosteen in the tamarind spicy sauce was delicious
Ordered the mee kia. The noodles were well cooked and didn had the alkaline taste. The soy sauce wasnt too salty. The soup was very flavourful and had many ingredients - minced pork, meatballs, pork slices, kidney and liver. I dont think it is our typical type of bcm but definitely a good bowl of noodle. Would recommend to give it a try if u are in the area.
This is very heartwarming and healthy for a rainy day in Singapore.
Lol simi cod. This seemed like any fried fish fillet. The pasta was decent but so little.
