Eduardo’s is a Spanish stall nestled within the Kawan Kawan Food Court, located in the basement of Tampines Mall. It’s conveniently situated at the first store near the entrance.

While their regular dishes may not leave a lasting impression, their Basque cheesecake is truly exceptional. It strikes the perfect balance—not too overly dry, with a delightfully moist and creamy center that’s simply irresistible.

Every time I’m in the Tampines Central area, I make it a point to grab a small cheesecake to take home for dessert.

It’s a treat I always look forward to!

Just a short hop from its original spot, Big Fish Small Fish has reopened at Century Square with a fresh new look! This casual dining spot offers a variety of tasty dishes, and I usually go for their battered dory sandwich, served on a brioche bun with sides of crisps and salad. This time, I added a sunny-side-up egg for that extra indulgence. The wifey opted for the signature battered dory with shiitake mushroom aglio olio. Both were as satisfying as ever!

Since the café’s opening, Tampines residents and those nearby have been flocking to show support. It was my second visit, and this time we went for brunch, ordering the Crab Cake Benedict, Lola’s Breakfast, and shared the Nacho Cheese Tater Tots.

The handmade crab and prawn cake was nicely seasoned, paired with perfectly poached eggs and miso hollandaise. The breakfast combo? Huge portion and satisfying. As for the tater tots, they’re basically bite-sized hash browns to me—the perfect potato snack, especially with that generous nacho cheese sauce. The food was great, and while the service was a bit off that day, it was likely just a one-off. We’ll definitely be back!

The presentation was on point here, with cascading folds of glossy, buttery hollandaise draped over bulbous poached eggs and crunchy looking croquettes sat on a bed of strikingly purple fennel cabbage slaw.
-
A shining example of style meeting substance, each component worked together as a harmonious whole. The miso-tinged, tobiko-spiked sauce lent salty richness to the perfectly cooked, still runny eggs, which themselves sauced the shatteringly crisp and meaty patties beneath them, whilst the slaw added crunchiness and freshness.

There’s no lack of new openings in Tampines of late. One of the latest and most anticipated entrants is Lola’s, which finally introduces a cafe of another caliber to bustling Tampines Central. Located at the intersection of Tampines Mall and Century Square, this branch is sunlight-filled from the large glass windows and decked in relaxing white, pastel and wooden tones.
-
While the coffee is surprisingly excellent, the food itself is some of the time, generic cafe fare, such as Lola’s version of the big breakfast.
The chicken kielbasa whilst perfunctory, doesn’t taste like actual kielbasa, whilst the scrambled eggs were well-cooked albeit unseasoned with nary a salt shaker in sight. What I did appreciate though were the thick cut bacon and crisp outside juicy inside mushroom fritters. This is by no means bad, just average.
