Refreshingly good.

Really grateful and appreciated that we spend time from travelling frm east to west. Its kinda hard and out of the way for us tbh. I wanted to come with my friend for their dessert especially their cakes. Their cakes got one of the kind like unique shape not that usual cake size. We managed to squeeze out on time for weekend. We really enjoyed DALE ($11) a lot and my opinion just fallen in between bitter and sweet note for taste. Taste like grassy but a bit sour aftertaste due to yuzu. photo credits: huiyi ✌

Whenever we make the journey back to the West, @lees_confectionery has always been one of our fave go-to places for handmade artisan cakes and delicious coffee.

Wanted to try the 𝙊𝙐𝙉𝙄💜, but as luck would have it, the last one went to the guy in front of us who ordered one of everything on the menu, so we had to give it a miss this time.. *laughcry* 😝🙃🙃

I wish I could explain the intricacies of every detailed work of art that's painstakingly plated and put together upon each order, but I'll let the photos, and your taste buds experience this for yourself!

Not too sweet, and every mouthful was an enjoyable medley of textures that complemented each ingredient beautifully. Special shoutout to the accompanying 𝘗𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘰 𝘐𝘤𝘦 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 on the side! 😋💚💚💚

𝙈𝘼𝘿𝙐 🐝 - A classic flavour that we've returned for again and again - 𝘏𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘴 𝘔𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘴𝘦🍦/ 𝘏𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘭🍯🍮/ 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴🍪. Malty and subtly sweet, it's a little bite of comfort, especially when paired with a dollop of 𝘔𝘪𝘭𝘬 𝘐𝘤𝘦 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮.

The bad news is... They are closing down soon, and their last day will be on 1st October 2023... 😭😭 So, please support these talented and passionate bakers while you still have the chance! 🇸🇬♥️♥️

I didn't like this, the honey doesn't come thru at all, the mascarpone mixed w milk cream was too light and it's only the caramel nuts that carry the flavour of the piece. The Horlicks ice cream was mild and the cornflakes were abit too tough, overall it was mild and didn't leave an impression

Rice was p fluffy and soft, dry enough to pair with the rendang sauce. Lion mane mushroom was meaty, went well with the flavourful and spicy rendang sauce. I liked the stir fried cabbage, as well as the tangy sweet achar it came with. Pappadum crackers were crisp! They served it with lotus root soup (with lotus root and peanuts), which is my fav soup so I was happy. Soup is not the most 浓, it’s v thin but it’ll do! I was p full and satisfied, though I don’t think this is v healthy but probably healthier than regular rendang.

So good!! I loved that it had tons of veggies - enoki, naibai, potato slices, lotus root slices, baicai, and goji. Yong tau foo pieces were crisp as they were deep(?) fried. The stuffing is vegetarian but resembled minced meat, was flavourful but not salty. I liked the taupok the best, but the stuffed mushroom and eggplant were both great as well, juicy and tasty. It's also served with some tanghoon, with a pumpkin broth (I wouldn't call it gravy bc it's not v thick) that had a nice natural sweetness.

Was v filling, I was full and v satisfied!

Back at Lee's Confectionery and this time I got to try their OTTO ($12). Shaped like a pistachio, the nutty number had really fun textures - I especially like the thin layer of chocolate. Filled with Pistachio mousse, 70% pistachio praline and a moist chunk of orange almond cake; the zesty flavour of the cake was unfortunately pretty subtle in my opinion. And the pistachio ice cream on the side could definitely be more distinct and fragrant as well. However, the rich pistachio praline paste really gave the plate a pleasantly roast-y flavour boost. The crunchy almond tart shells were nice and buttery too.

Their crispy choux pastry is still one of my favourite as it is amazingly light and airy. Loaded with yummy whipped coconut cream, lemongrass-infused rice pudding and fresh mango cubes; the combination in AROY ($11) was right up my alley. The hints of lemongrass being the highlight for me as it added a refreshing fragrance. A bright, tropical hit, the mango ice cream was also sweet and paired amazingly with the choux.

The girls there gave me 1.5 pieces of avocado toast instead of the 2 normal slices of sourdough, and still charged me the full amount $9.90. When I feedbacked to the girls, they said that they usually give only 0.5 slice of the 2nd piece if the first piece was big, and then dismissed my feedback. This is usually not the case, I have been visiting Acai affair regularly at different branches and they have always given me 2 normal slices. This outlet has shortchanged me and is not receptive to customer feedback, and this has severely affected my customer experience and I am deeply disappointed with the way they covered up their mistake of shortchanging me. It has ruined my impression of Acai affair. I would advise other customers to Think twice before visiting this outlet.
