Finally tried this extremely famous porridge stall, with queues reaching up to an hour. Equipped with number systems and people willing to sit outside in the heat for an hour, they got to be doing something right.
I had the Pork Organ Porridge ($6) and indeed it was quality porridge. It was flavourful and filled with loads of ingredients such as pork liver, pork intestines and cuttlefish. The liver was fresh and not overcooked, and the intestines were surprisingly not smelly at all. Pork balls and slices of lean meat were tender! Add in a dough fritter ($1.20), and you got yourself a complete porridge experience!
It was definitely a good porridge, but I feel like I wouldn't queue for more than 15 minutes for this. I think a 1 hour wait is really quite far-fetched for a porridge π
Throwback post - Thick and flavorful, amazing consistency πππ
Not sure if it is only for delivery or this has become a staple, it comes with a small packet of fried youtiao which feel more like biscuits than the usual doughy and fluffy version.
Having mixed it with the congee, the slightly softened crisp youtiao provide different texture. However, I cannot help but notice the used fryer oil (θζ²Ήε³) aftertaste. Better off not adding it π π π

Comes with century egg, meatballs, intestines, cuttlefish, fish, chicken, liver and pork slices. The porridge was filled with unami. Really the best i have tried. The pork slices also very tender. The only thing i dont like was the you tiao which you had to add on for $1.20. The you tiao was quite doughy.
Second time here and the taste doesnt fail to dissapont me. The best porridge i have eaten in Singapore thusfar. The porridge is so savoury and well seasoned with generous portions of ingredients at an affordable price. Highly recommend.
Sin Heng Kee consistently whips up excellent congee.
The porridge here is the thick type, it's flavourful and is my far my favourite porridge.
It not only smells good, but also has a shiok umami taste.
The signature porridge consist of Century egg, sliced pork, meat balls, liver, intestines, cuttlefish, sliced fish, minced chicken. So many stuff in one bowl of porridge.
All ingredients were fresh, fish was soft, sliced pork was soft and tender, liver was cooked to an excellent medium rare.
+50 cents for additional raw egg.
Overall 5/5 for me. Need to da pao additional packets back for the wife too.
Queue for ordering is quite fast. But need to wait around 40mins for your food to be ready during late dinner timing.
These porridges had the delicious classic βchoukβ texture and were generously filled with the ingredients they promised! Though the taste wasnβt spectacular, it was a good filling bowl of porridge guaranteed to warm you up on the days you need it most :3
The last time i had frog porrdige was when i was a really small child and had no impression of that exp at all! This time I did not hesitate to order it from their extensive menu and was not disappointed! The texture of frog is really intriguing like fish and chicken at the same time HAHA the porridge was so delicious ! with the fragrance of the ginger and spring onions and sweetness from the frogs it really stood out as their Signature. Highly recommend!
Making a bowl of congee isn't as complicated as, say, baking a cake. Sin Heng Kee does all the basics exceedingly well, and has remained the best congee stall in Singapore IMO for years.
You can't go wrong with any of the selections here, and the ππΆππ΅ π£πΌπΏπΏπΆπ±π΄π² ($4.50) exemplified Sin Heng Kee's finesse. The congee had a thick, gooey consistency and the thick fish slices were smooth and tender.
Mixing in the egg (+ $0.50) gave it a more luxurious feel while the addition of shallots and spring onions enhanced its fragrance and texture. Truly a flawless bowl of congee and super comforting!

If you want a bit of everything, it is best to order their Signature Porridge. Meatball, Century Egg, Egg, Intestine, sliced cuttlefish, pig's liver, sliced fish and sliced pork were all included under the bed of hot congee. Ingredients were tendered and well seasoned.
@sinhengkeeporridge is one of my personal favourites when it comes to Cantonese-style porridge or chok.
My go-to order is their signature porridge which is chok-full of ingredients such as century egg, sliced pork, meatballs, intestines, cuttlefish, sliced fish and minced chicken. Every bowl is warm, hearty and comforting, and perfect for the rainy weather these days.
Big rain calls for a huge bowl of porridge. And not just any tinpot, rinky dink porridge, god no. Only the best will do, and Sin Heng Kee is definitely at the top of the congee heap. Iβve been having their piquant porridges to go for quite a while now, but itβs only recently that Iβve decided to have a proper sit down there.β
β
Iβve been more partial to their sliced pork porridge although their sliced fish & chicken porridges are excellent as well, so I ordered it for the meagre custom of four dollars, and got a handful of pork meatballs for only an extra dollar. The reason why I absolutely adore Sin Heng Keeβs porridge is due to the congee being E X T R A T H I C C.β

Yessir, this redolent rice reduction is so dummy thicc you could stand a spoon in it. Itβs indulgently carb loaded, and indecently laden with savoury, umami salty goodness. The generous portion of sliced pork is cooked simply but skilfully, with the tender meat bearing no trace of any off-putting pork musk. The meatballs possess a fabulously firm yet sufficiently soft texture, and are also simply yet superbly salted.β

When I was a young boy, Iβd dodge porridge like how I dodge my problems these days, but Iβve definitely morphed into a thirty year old boomer with chronic backaches and a predilection for palatable porridges. And almost nobody does it better than Sin Heng Kee.
The original grab price is almost 50% markup
Waited almost an hour for this DUE TO MY OWN MISTAKE. This branch isn't available for self pickup, so take note
Nonetheless, I think it might actually be worth the wait. I had this philosophy that good food is good regardless of proportion. If every element is good then even if they could have been more generous, it doesn't change the fact that it tastes good. My simple philosophy was blown out of the water by this bowl
Ridiculously flavourful bowl simply due to the generosity of ingredients. The signature has almost everything, except salted egg I think. The ingredients were probably 40% by weight, making for a very filling bowl despite the normal looking size.
Special props to the tender af meatballs and the best cuttlefish I've had. Those were truly of another class. The cuttlefish was so light and barely had any chew. You wouldn't imagine a could-like cuttlefish. The rest of the ingredients were more than competent too.
I always wanted to believe I'm some purist with an elevated appreciation of food, focusing on the mastery and techniques. But nah, just give me this bowl because of how insanely generous they are with their ingredients. It's almost unfair how they accumulate flavour through throwing a mad amount of stuff in the porridge.
Must try. And value for money too
My friend recommended this place and brought me here. The place was quite packed when we arrived at 12pm with people on one side waiting for their takeaways and another queueing up to order their food.
I had the Century Egg with Meat Ball Porridge ($4.50). A bowl of seasoned porridge with cubed century egg and handmade meatballs. Porridge tasted like they seasoned mainly with soy sauce. Century egg given was a good amount. Meatballs were flavourful.
My friend had the Mixed Pig's Organ Porridge ($4.50). I tried the intestine from my friend's porridge and was just wonderfully surprised. The intestine was actually very flavorful. Maybe they marinated it before cooking. Definitely would get the Intestine Porridge if I come back.
We also got the You Tiao($1). Comes in one whole piece.
Overall to me I think this is a normal bowl of porridge and I wouldn't want to wait for half an hour just to have it.
Fav porridge of all times. Have been eating this since young and its a plus point that its walling distance from my house. Major love.π
PRICE:
$4.50 century egg and meatball porridge
$1.00 YouTiao
WAITING TIME: About 5 min on a weekday 3PM
REMARKS:
- Will not order YouTiao again cos it's all soft. Prefer the fried kind, still intact as a pair.
- My favourite meatball porridge really. Those handmade meatballs are just perfect for someone like me who doesn't like the usual instant frozen meatballs
- Bonus points for the free flow sesame oil and fried shallots.
Smooth, creamy, tasty and full of ingredients. A wholesome bowl of comfort food!
Prepare to wait quite sometime for the porridge during lunch time. Porridge is made with a giant βpressure cookerβ, apparently can cook porridge in 30mins...
Porridge is very flavorful, and they are generous with ingredient. Worth the wait and value for money.
The porridge is thick and goes well with their handmade meatball π this place is always crowded during evening and can be difficult to get seat for big groups.
One of its famous dish is century eggs ($3) that comes with gingers and chili at the side.
Best teochew porridge ever
- price point worth it
- queues slightly long during lunch / dinner time
- $4-5 a bowl
- quality consistency
