I preferred the Crispydoori (fried) to the OG (baked) for its crunch and heavier-spiced sauce🐓🔥 The masala fries though thick, were reallyyyy crispy and made better dipped in harissa mayo.

Very interesting concept across the board. They made a burger joint focusing on tandoori chicken. The crispydoori was better because the chicken thigh was deep-fried and the harissa mayo and cheese went so well with it. The OG has a baked thigh, mint yogurt and lots of raw onion. This made it more Indian, but I couldn't help thinking it's a more common flavour. They use a good brioche bun too. Special mention for the fries, which although thick cut, was oddly airy and very crispy. Its loaded version sorta doubled your meal, because it's topped with lots of the same chicken. The concept goes further with sauces - you can help yourself to mango sauce and "dragon sauce". The former tasted like mango and chilli, while the latter tasted like spicy mentaiko. Finally, you can have slushies for drinks. There's bandung, chai peng and our flavour of the day was chocolate. Quite gimmicky, as these are just $1 drinks selling at $5 because they're slush. I liked the chai peng because it's more unusual. Warning though: the smoke is billowing in a small, aircon space so you'll leave completely stinky.

The flavours can vary much, but I'd say they're interesting!

($10) my mum insisted to order mutton briyani ah but then I felt that their mutton was quite soft and not that hard (overcooked) tbh. I wanted to order this but my sister halt me ah. 🫣🥹

($7) I never tried the murtabak and its gonna to be first time ah. But I felt that the sauce was quite thick and a bit spicy taste. The roti prata was quite slightly overcooked tbh. Overall, I will be returning back for different flavour instead of chicken.

($9) my sister she wanted to order their mee goreng lol but then they didn't sell on weekends 🫠. In the end, she decided to get fish briyani lol. Good thing that they deep fried fish before putting gravy inside. We just literally went back to try different dish on their menu. Fish was quite fresh and not bad smell tbh.

($9) I didn't expected that I will be takeaway briyani for dinner last week :") Their briyani got a bit uncooked but their curry gravy got nutty and creamy texture so I really like their gravu tbh. Chicken size was quite smaller in size tbh but the service was quite for takeaway as they alr packed briyani on the boxes in plastic bag.

Zam Zam used to be one of the places to go to for murtabak. However, the clout surrounding the brand for its negative publicity and aggressive touting have led to many unpleasant experiences. In spite of all these, if the food remains good, it is still a place to visit. But, how the mighty have fallen, and fallen hard. The murtabak had a very thick doughy texture while the minced beef filling was tasteless, not even the curry was able to rescue it. Probably give this a miss the next time you think of visiting this institution.

I tried their Briyani on a Sunday. Did not had to wait for too long as there was a small queue around 11.30am. The cost was around $8 each for the mutton and chicken briyani. Their food was not as tasty as what the reviews have been saying. The mutton was not fantastic and the curry did not blend into the rice well. The briyani lacked masala which is the most critical element that makes the dish exceptional.

To give them some credit, their briyani rice was cooked to perfection with a nice aroma but that alone is not enough for a briyani. The meat and curries have to be excellent as well and they do not fare well in those areas.

I was appalled by their service. One of the worker gave preference to some of the customers who were standing behind me. He picked and chose who he wanted to serve even though there was a queue. I found it very unprofessional and left a bad impression on their service.

Overall it’s not worth the hype and I have eaten way better briyani in S’pore at other lesser known places. You can try here once, but definitely not a place I would come back again.

Known for their murtabak, I've had their rendition since young and their quality really stayed roughly the same over the years!

The Mutton Murtabak ($7) was my favourition, with heavily seasoned minced mutton sandwiched between prata dough. The dough is slightly crispy on the outside and chewy within. Paired with their curry, this is one comforting dish I will crave from time to time!

Their Chicken Mee Goreng ($10) also came in huge portions. The noodles were well fried, as they were al dente while being very flavourful! The spice level can be quite high for this one, and it got me ordering drinks together with this 😂 the chicken may be a little dry, but the marination was what got me going for more.

Definitely a place I will come once in a while to get some quality supper fare. Can't wait to be back!

Probably the only vadai by far that makes me fall in love with the snack on first bite! I also finally understood why it is popular among groupbuys. On a Saturday afternoon when we dropped by, they only had the prawn vadai available and with each order, the vadai were fried instantly again. I found the vadai here not as floury as the usual ones that I have tasted. In fact, even with the relatively crispy batter exterior, the interior was fluffy and well marinated with spices. The prawn on top was sizeable, and surprisingly meaty while the green chilies were complimentary. Will be back to try the vadais with other toppings such as ikan bilis and grago!
