The Sweet Potato Porridge with “Mei Cai” Pork Belly, Preserved Radish Omelette and Assorted Condiment ($14.90) is such a comforting meal. Although the pork belly is not super soft, it is braised thoroughly and not dry at all. The sweet and savoury preserved radish omelette is very tasty. Together with a hot bowl of sweet potato porridge, this is one hearty porridge meal!
𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐲 𝐎𝐦𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 ($15.90) - Silky scrambled eggs atop QQ pearl rice with pork patty and a rich teriyaki like sauce.
Taiwanese cafe introduces 3 Eggsquisite Specials until end October. 🥚🥚🥚
𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐧 & 𝐄𝐠𝐠 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐚𝐤𝐞 ($16.90) - Fluffy and light souffle topped with crispy bacon, oozy sunny side up, velvety hollandaise sauce, and drizzle of honey. Interesting and enjoyable mix of sweet and savory flavours.
The mee sua came with a lot of soup. The oyster was fresh and intestine was clean. I feel it was on the pricier side for such a bowl of mee sua. I can get it cheaper at other places selling taiwan food.
Craving for desserts? 🥹 Try the Soufflé Stackers with Ice Cream ($17.90) here. Drizzled with strawberry cheese sauce, this soufflé pancake is so soft and airy 🍓 The light fluffy jiggly pancake tower 🥞 comes with fresh strawberry, almond biscuit and ice cream 🍦 Great for those with a sweet tooth!
Truth be told, I’ve tried their mains and I definitely had better Taiwanese food elsewhere. However, I was pretty surprised by the desserts standards 😳 Would be back for these again!

We had…
🌟 Coffin Toast ($14.90)
Putting a sweet spin on the traditional coffin bread 棺材板, this rendition comes with a caramelised top ⚰️ Stuffed with custard cream, enjoy this with the boba pearls and strawberry that comes at the side 🧋
🌟 Black Sesame Waffle-Quake ($15.90)
We also tried the black sesame waffle. The waffle tasted pretty normal but the sauce comes with a distinct sesame taste which we enjoyed

Ordered a bunch of dishes in this cafe selling Taiwanese food and here are my favourites:
Golden Chicken Fritters ($8.50) - now this is bloody addictive. The outer shell is really crispy and the chicken is tender and succulent and very well flavoured.
Panko Canadian Pork Chop ($10.90) - equally as addictive, with an even crisper outer skin. The pork meat within is tender and flavourful too!
Taiwan Lu Rou Rice ($13.50) - I especially loved the braised sauce, although it isn't authentic. The sauce still has a good bold braised flavour and the generous fatty meat they gave was really tender and full of flavour!
Strawberry Soufflé Stackers ($17.90) - definitely a dessert enough to share with 4 people. The Soufflé Pancakes were very fluffy and went so well with the strawberry jam and strawberry yogurt ice cream. Add the condensed milk for extra sweetness!
Sadly, the Oyster Mee Sua ($14.50) was a miss as the oyster and pork intestines seemed not fresh 😢
All in all, I feel like the food items were pretty expensive, but perhaps I will be back for the rice and fried snacks once in a while 😍
can skip!
i find that the meat was rather dry. while it was tender and had some fats in it, the entire meat did not have a drip of gravy on it
west lake is still probably the best imo
i really enjoyed the gravy of this chicken pot. I find that the portion of the chicken was abit too little for its pricing
This dish was not too bad. Pork Chop was tender and crispy!! Fried rice had some wok hey in it
desserts > mains at this shop
mains were really mediocre but the desserts especially this soufflé pancake really stood out. fluffy and jiggly, accompanied w an assortment of fruits and honey comb ice cream.

There's quite a few restaurants selling Souffle pancakes at Plaza Singapura. I end up decided to go with Typhoon Taiwanese Cafe, as they claimed that their pancakes are certified fluffiest in town.
Ordered their Soufflé Stackers with Strawberry, Almond Biscuit & Strawberry-Cheese Sauce ($17.90). I would say the warm pancakes had good volume and fluffy but smell and tasted overly eggy, and on the slightly wet sticky side. Pancakes were also kind of on the sweeter side.
Menu photo and description says it's paired with Almond Biscuit, but turned out to be different from Menu, it's more like biscuit crumbs 😅. Strawberry Cheese Sauce tasted just like normal cream sauce. Can't really taste any cheese flavour but it's ok lah still goes well with pancake and I like cream anyway. Ice cream was ok and pretty normal. The best thing about this dessert was the fresh strawberries! Complement well with the sweetness of the dessert and made it less jelak.
Might not come to this cafe again just for their Soufflé pancake. Over priced and no wow factor. Haven't try anything else on their Menu. Would be interested to know whether their Taiwanese Mee Sua, Lu Rou Fan and Golden Chicken Fritter tasted authentic like the ones I love in Taiwan.
Came here with two of my friends for lunch and it was not that crowded. So here's what we ordered.
Fan-Fried Enoki Mushroom ($7.90). I was expecting crispy Enoki Mushroom but in the end it was more on the chewy side.
Oyster Omelette ($9.90). Eggs, oysters, shredded cabbage and chives. The most disappointing dish. It tasted just like an egg omelette topped with oyster. My Taiwanese friend commented that this did not taste like a Taiwan oyster omelette.
Signature Taiwanese Oyster Fritters Mee Sua with Fried Pork Intestine ($13.90). Oyster Fritters are served on the side and taste quite good like a small snack. Mee Sua taste good but portion-wise, quite small. Hardly enough to make you full.
The hot food that we got were all disappointing and so we proceeded to order desserts which was the main reason we came.
Souffle Stackers with Strawberry, Almond Biscuit & Strawberry-Cheese sauce ($17.90). The souffle pancake were nice and of good volume. However it was on the sweet side and also the pancakes sticked to one another. It was fluffy but tasted eggy. The almond biscuit tasted more like normal biscuit crumbs and the strawberry-cheese sauce tasted like a normal cream sauce, quite sad. Ice cream served on the side was pink in colour but it tasted more like normal cream flavoured ice cream with colouring, another bummer. The strawberries served on the side were sliced into two and drizzled with a berry sauce which I just did not like.
Hell Valley Chocolate Volcano ($16.90). This dessert looked amazing and I would recommend it if you want to take a picture of a beautiful dessert but taste-wise it was just confusing. It consist of dense cakes(or maybe blondies?) with an ice cream, grapes and berry sauce encased in a chocolate volcano-like sculpture, circled with chocolate crumbs, grapes, strawberries and blueberries. Once it arrives on the table the server would then proceed to pour the hot chocolate on it to melt the chocolate sculpture. Overall my taste buds were confused. The acidic berry sauce somehow did not go well with it the dessert. The warm Chocolate sauce also did not go well with the grapes and blueberries.
Overall did not really enjoy my meal but the souffle was not bad. Worth trying.
Exactly what I expected—sweet and fluffy with all that maple syrup and custard. Though fragrant, the soufflé pancakes seemed a little wet in the middle, but it was not very discernible. The fruits provided a nice bit of sourness and crunch in contrast to the sweetness and softness of the pancakes that helped to make the dessert less gelat. Ice cream was also a nice touch with the coldness and the vanilla flavour complemented the flavours well. I probably wouldn’t come to the cafe specially for the soufflé pancakes since it’s nothing special for the price and there are cheaper options around that taste the same. But if I do end up here again, I wouldn’t mind forking out the extra buck to get this again since it was overall pretty satisfying and yummy.
It seems like almost every tables here have ordered this. The menu stated it was certified fluffiest in the town so of course must try it.
Be prepare to wait for a long time for this to be served to your table, because they prepare this one by one upon order. We probably have waited more than 30mins.
But the wait definitely worth it, the statement was somehow true. Mixed well with the ice cream and strawberry. $17.90++
My friend recommended me here for their dessert. It was full house when we arrived even it is already past 8pm on Sunday night.
I like the filling inside with yam and there’s also yam tang yuan inside, making it very chewable. It was also hot, so taste perfectly with the ice cream and cream combination. $14.90++
3⭐ WB has a $20 Creative Eateries birthday voucher to redeem and I suggest Typhoon Cafe. If not, he will definitely choose Sukiya. 🤦🏻♀️
The san bei chicken doesn't have the strong and authentic taste, I guess I cook better san bei chicken than them. 🤭 As for the lu rou mian, the taste of the five spice powder is too strong that WB comment that it's as if he's eating dumpling and I find the dish salty. The only consolation is the tea and we loves it.
