I’ve been a fan of @fernandospizzasg ever since I tried their pies a while back, and I was elated to discover that they’re on #burpplebeyond. They’ve got 1-for-1 on hero sandwiches, baked dishes like lasagna, and of course, 1-for-1 half pizzas. For the first half, I chose a cheese base pizza, the Sausage Fest ($14 nett for half, I believe), and for the second half, I chose Fernando’s signature tomato based pizza, the Fernando’s Special ($15 for half).⠀

The same charmingly chewy and light thin crust was the foundation upon which both ‘zas were built on, and the toppings did justice to the prime pizza crust. The Sausage Fest seems pretty standard at first with spicy sausage, cherry tomatoes and a stretchy blanket of mozzarella, but then broccoli crashes the party. As a broccoli buff, I thought the vegetal, roasted flavour of the broccoli was a nice twist and added an extra bit of variety to the mildly spicy, supremely savoury & enjoyably herby (courtesy of the oregano) Sausage Fest.⠀

The Fernando’s Special was truly special. The tastefully tangy tomato marinara base held the roasted fennel sausage, roasted red peppers, onions and olives. Just like the Sausage Fest, Fernando threw another curveball by sneaking in cauliflower. Unlike the broccoli however, I am not a cauliflower fan, but I still enjoyed the texture of the roasted cauliflower alongside the sweet roasted red peppers and onions. I’m obsessed with olives, and I loved the inclusion of olives that gave the pizza bursts of stunning savouriness & richness. ⠀

As counterintuitive as it sounds, the Special is best enjoyed slightly cooled off, so as to ensure that all the toppings don’t slide right off. The Sausage Fest, on the other hand, demands that you dive right in.

Choice of a drink - American Sweet Tea (Homemade)

Help yourself to the condiments on the counter. There’s tomato sauce, chilli sauce, Tabasco, Parmesan, Hot Oil (spicy chilli oil), and Hot Honey. The Hot Honey tasted like the usual honey but left behind a spicy aftertaste.

Salmon was seared perfectly. Skin was crispy on the outside, the meat was juicy & tender on the inside. Fries were crispy & well-seasoned as well. Prawns were big & fresh. Pasta could hv slightly more seasoning / taste. Portion was quite small tho

PSA marble beef and rack of Lamb not available for Burpple beyond

IT really is very tender. They dk the Source but i think it's probably meltique beef. There's the teeniest bit of chew, and a butter aroma. Not that much beefiness

Pretty decent, but it's annoying that they didnt write you cant Use Burpple beyond on this.

Overall the place is pretty average, having had good steak before I definitely wouldnt travel here for any of their items again, esp not with Burpple beyond exclusion of the steak

Take note the good reviews are most likely from before the change of hands, after covid

This is really very homemade. It's alright but it seems exactly like what you would make at home, it's not even the hawker type of chicken chop.

PSA they changed hands, no More Small cakes, now they have waffles

The salmon was okay, Pan seared on all 4 sides so abit overcooked. Pasta was very mild, texture was average

One for one deal makes it very worth it. Food is relatively decent and service was good. Quiet place and lots of whisky selection. Would recommend for whisky lovers. The desserts are no longer available, seems like there has been some changes on the menu.

It took a while to arrive on our table but it was well baked for the cheese to melt into the dish with penne in beef bolognese sauce, white sauce & cheese.

Crispy Chicken fillets as a good side.

Chicken marinated in Spices and grilled to golden perfection. Very tasty, spicy and delectable. Just like the ones I make at home!
