[BOON KENG, SINGAPORE] Their dim sum just shouts old school flavours! From Fried Yam Cake 🍠 to Beancurd with Mango Salad 🥭, their food items were decent and had a unique nostalgic flavour. One of our favourites definitely has to be their Fried Yam Cake, as it was so addictive with its crispy exterior and fluffy inside.

They also sell crab dishes too! We tried their Chilli Crabs 🦀 and it was pretty fantastic. The meat was fresh and really sweet, and the sauce had a good tang, although it wasn't spicy.

Do note that mayonnaise sauce is at an additional 50 cents though, unless you order the fried shrimp dumpling

Get their porridge too (2 pax portion) that is served in a claypot! Many choices to choose from. We got the claypot frog leg porridge! The porridge was very fragrant with the fried garlic!

The crab dishes are real affordable, at just $28! There are 4 choices to choos from: Vermicelli Crab, White Pepper Bee Hoon Crab, Chilli Crab with Bun & Garlic Steam Crab. I highly recommend the Vermicelli Crab! The vermicelli soaked up all the sauce so so good! Plus the crab was meaty and fresh!

I'm glad it's back. This is one of McDonald's best special flavours. It tastes exactly like good melon.

For some reason we tried their rice menu and they're basic at best. Reminder to self to not order them again.

We wanted some greens, but this proved difficult to finish haha.

Like I said, their dishes can come out different each time. I noted before this is unlike scallion pancake, but it's changed again. This time was very flaky, less dense, and oilier.

The meat dumplings are fried, then topped with liquid cheese, which coagulates quickly. Quite gimmicky and don't match the price.

They changed this! The bone-in chicken still exists within the rice, but there's now a meat patty on top. That meat was mediocre. This also generated a conversation with my companion that 126 has a history of serving things that look different over time.
