the fish & chips ($48) is so fresh and crispy! the thick cut fries and mushy peas were equally good too
personally still prefer the bread basket they used to serve :") but this was not bad too!
The experience here was superb and pleasant! More than just being friendly, the people here go the extra mile to explain every dish. We got quite the spread - the beef Wellington experience (a deal they’re having now at $98) along with the wine experience, the Sirloin steak at 300g, and the spicy tuna tartare.
The beef Wellington was surprisingly big portioned and had a unique and delicious taste. It went well with the sauce!
The sirloin was one of the best steaks I ever ordered. The meat was excellently cooked and the portion of meat to fat was just nice. We enjoyed it thoroughly.
The spicy tuna tartare had a special kick to it with the avocado sauce. Something to try if you’re feeling adventurous!
Lastly, the wine experience is to be bragged about. The wine experience add on to the beef Wellington experience (+$52) comes with 3 servings of white, red and sweet wine at every conjunction of the servings. Each tasted superb and it’s way beyond value with its exquisite taste.
Overall, we had a great celebration and would give it an astounding 9/10!
Lovely ambience to this restaurant with a view of the palm free and water, the food was also yummy!
even though BSK is known for their fish & chips and beef wellington, they do their steak rlly well too!! we got the dry-aged sirloin 300g ($64) medium rare and it was soo good🥩 not melt in ur mouth but still vvv tender and soft. the sides were rlly complementary too - grilled mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and watercress
baked spinach & ricotta cannelloni ($30) was essentially a lasagna in cylindrical form, STUFFED. w spinach and ricotta and the tomato sauce leaned towards the sour side.
fish & chips ($38) came in a super huge portion!!!!!! batter was crisp and fish was tender but lacked flavour. love the fries and mushy peas more actually
Beef wellington was superb and tender. Although we did wait ~45 mins, I did feel like it was worth the wait. Bookings do have to be made 1-2 weeks in advance as they can get quite packed. Wellington easily feeds 2-3 people as the serving size is huge. Comes with 2 sides which as truffle mashed potatoes and maple carrots. Overall, I would come back again!
Huge portion of fish & chips which makes the price point pretty worth it at Bread Street Kitchen. Fish was fresh and slightly tender but the batter was a bit too soft. Generally very average in terms of flavour and quality but at BSK you’re very much also paying for service and ambience.

At the staff’s advice we went for the larger portion, but there really wasn’t a need if you’re just looking for an appetiser from this crispy duck salad. Crispy Duck emulated the sweet taste and texture of the sides of char siew, with the texture being slightly tougher because it was fried. The salad comprising of watercress, radish, ginger with orange and soy dressing was refreshing, but I personally could not appreciate how the crispy duck complemented it. This entire dish felt like elements too disconnected from one another particularly in flavours, with the overwhelming sweetness from the duck at odds with the tangy salad.

Gin Flight is an easy way to get a bit of five different types of Gin if you’re in a dilemma over what to get. Most of the Gin here constitute of floral notes, but the one that stood out to me was the Cirka 375 which had more earthy and smokey undertones.
tho a tad overcooked, the cod still tasted fresh and paired well with the red wine & lemon sauce! cut is thiccc too
btw you HAVE to get koffman’s fries ($10) as a side they’re so good we ordered two servings
the salted butter is so goodddddd we asked for more hehe🧈 and this amount of bread for $4??? slay
Celebrated my birthday here at Bread Street Kitchen recently and the highlight was of course their signature Beef Wellington! Taste wise, it certainly met my expectations, as it tasted as good as I thought it would be! The pastry was crisp and flaky, while the beef was done to a perfect medium rare. The red wine sauce amplified the overall dish too! This paired well with the sides that came alongside it - truffle brie mashed potato & glazed carrots!
You will not go wrong with this Sticky Toffee Pudding that is served warm, topped with vanilla ice cream! Rich in burnt, caramelised flavor, this dessert is just so decadent that everyone is full of praise for this.
I like this place because the food is rather consistent and they have the some of the better service staff you will get in MBS. Generally you need to book at least a month in advance to get a dinner reservation on any day, but for weekends at a good time e.g. 7pm you are looking at around 6 weeks advance booking.
Here is what I usually order and enjoy:
1.) Superfood Salad is a good starter, offering up refreshing Kale and Quinoa in citrus dressing
2.) Roasted Cod, served on mash potato is a fresh, filling serving
3.) Sticky Pudding is a fantastic dessert, recommended to me by a waitress there who loves her sweets
Tldr - when in doubt, order beef wellington!
The Festive Menu (79++) is available from 29 Nov to 25 Dec 2021, consists of 3-course meal. You can swap the main to beef wellington (which I recommend, after trying the turkey breast) for additional $55 (1 portion) or $109 (2 portions).
The seared scallop for starter was the best among 3 dishes I had, although it would be perfect if they did not overcooked the scallop.
The roasted turkey breast stuffed with chestnut and pigs in blanket was a bit disappointing. Plain and tough. Served with roasted vegetables which did not leave an impression.
The traditional Christmas pudding with brandy sauce was acceptable, but a bit too dry for my liking.
Overall, the Festive Menu did not exceed my expectation. Beef Wellington is still their best dish.

For the starter, we enjoyed the most is seared scallop. Cooked perfectly, soft springy served with spiced pumpkin, pomegranate, scallion, bacon jam.

🍄 What we had:
Beef Fillet Wellington ($80) - beef was tasteless and it came cold. skin was flakey and overall the dish seemed to be very wet?? literally saving grace of the dish was the mashed potatoes and the sautéed vegetables which were sweet. everything else was honestly a huge disappointment.
Large Caesar Salad ($18) - decent salad, but wished the anchovies were in cut to smaller pieces, as it was just eating chunks and chunks of fish, making it overall really salty.
Mushroom Risotto ($32) - the only decent thing on our table. it's very mushroomy, and there were visable chunks of it on the dish, appealing for those who love mushroom! nicely cooked risotto, however the truffle pesto, didn't do much to the dish, no taste as the mushroom was super overpowering.
Traditional Fish & Chips ($30) - batter was wet, and fish was pretty tasteless. fries were soggy because of the wet fish skin.
Mac & Cheese ($16) - ok I have no words for this. if you compared 7-11 mac & cheese with this and put it side by side, you will probably think that the 7-11 mac & cheese was cooked by them, and theirs was from 7-11. there was supposedly garlic roasted crumbs on top, but it just tasted bland, and super tasteless. complete waste of money.
Spaghetti, Tomato sauce ($14) - we ordered the kids spaghetti for the kid, and it was again, tasteless. she was reluctant to eat, that says a lot.
VERDICT: please if Gordan came down to eat this, he would probably just close the whole place down. honestly a big embarrassment to his name, definitely never going back. on top of that, paid $22 for service charge, when they literally treated my family and I like we were non-existent. staff was impatient with us when we ordered, and was super reluctant to serve us.
out of everything, bad service is the worse you can get at these places. literally the most off putting thing and the absolute reason why i will never recommend or go back to this place.
