I was blown away the moment we stepped into the restaurant especially by the interior and service. The menu was also carefully curated and I felt that the elements in the dishes paired very well.
I loved all the dishes but I would say that my favourite is the Hungarian Duck Breast (mains) which was tender and juicy. I loved how they also used their in-house lacto ferments to create the lacto blueberry ‘bordelaise’.
Other dishes that we ordered included the seasonal snack courses like the tuna tartare tartlette, sweet prawn and truffle toast. Each one of these snacks was a flavour explosion, and I also loved how different textures were used.
Our entrees were the Hokkaido Scallop Crudo which was refreshing and tangy. I felt that the lacto-tomato dressing really helped to highlight the sweetness of the scallop and I also loved the other elements of the dishes like the pickled apples and finger lime.
Lastly, for our dessert, we opted for the Deconstructed Lemon Meringue Tart and the Smoked Chocolate Brownie. I love both desserts and they helped to end the meal with a bang!
Also like to give a special shoutout to the waiter who attended to us. He was very knowledgeable in terms of explaining the dishes and kept checking in on us throughout the dinner.
Overall, I would highly recommend this place as it left a very good impression on my friend and I. We will definitely be back again!
Ordered the duck confit, wagyu burger, fried squid with spicy aioli, and the baked alaskan and all of them did not disappoint. We started off with the fried squid which was a sharing plate. The fried squid was so crispy and it paired well with the aioli! Duck confit was tender and it was accompanied by a medley of vegetables which complemented the dish. Wagyu burger was also superb, as the bun was lighted toasted and there were pickles to cut through the rich taste of the beef. Not to mention that patties were huge and substantial. Lastly, we had the baked alaskan. I loved that there was salt in the meringue as it helped to highlight the vanilla flavour in the ice cream. Overall, I highly recommend this place.
Would also like to commend the staff who were excellent in explaining the dishes and for their good service. Would definitely recommend this place!
Got the treasure trove set and was surprised with how pretty the packaging looks! Truly a treasure trove and would definitely recommend gifting to others!
Inside, there were 4 signature nyonya rice dumplings, 4 hokkien rice dumplings with salted egg yolk, 5 sweet bean ang ku kueh and 5 green tea ang ku kueh.
I tried all of them and I have to say this is one of the best rice dumplings and ang ku kueh i’ve eaten. Rice dumplings have huge chunks of meat, rice was soft despite it being in the fridge for a few days and it was pleasantly fragrant! Ang ku kueh was also a hit in terms of its flavours. I personally liked the green tea one because of how mellow the flavours were but the sweet bean was also exceptionally good.
my first impression really felt like I was under the stars as the surrounding area was very dark and the lights stood out. We had to try the highly raved barbecue meats and true enough, the grill imparted a strong charcoal taste and the meats were marinated so well! I tried the fresh clams and mussels (mains) which had a briney taste from the sea water and the sauces coated and suited the clams well. My personal favourite was their chicken chop, queen margarita pizza and pumpkin soup (soup of the day). The pumpkin soup was so flavourful and smooth. My friend and I could really tell they made it from scratch as there was this natural sweetness and slightly charred flavour which added another dimension. Overall, highly recommend this authentic outdoor bbq experience!
Upon stepping into the restaurant, the deco and atmosphere felt very authentic. We ordered the mentaiko rosti, parmasan chips, kaarage chicken, and ponzu beef. I love all of them but my personal favourite was the parmasan chips. It was served with honey and tomatos. Its a smart idea to pair savoury (cheese) and sweet (tomatoes and honey) together! In addition, the acidity of the tomatoes also cut through the fattiness of the cheese and oil. Waiter was also vert attentive and kept coming over to check on our food/water. Highly recommend :)
Tried the prawn and lala soup and it came in a claypot which managed to retain the heat very well! Was surprised that the soup was still warm even after finishing. Lala was sweet and prawns were nicely peeled. The star was definitely the rich broth as there were many dimensions to it. I chose kway teow as my noodle and it was a generous serving. Also decided to order the ngoh hiang platter and it was plated beautifully. My favourite was definitely the ngoh hiang as it had huge chunks of water chestnut which gave the ngoh hiang different textures (crunchy, crispy and soft). Prawn cracker also had this wonderful “creamy” taste to it. Definitely recommend to all! :)
I ordered the Trio Speciality Beef Noodles which were very springy and the soup had a mild herbal taste which was very pleasant! Noodles came with tendon, and several beef slices/cuts. The meat had a good mouthfeel to it and it was enjoyable. We also ordered the cold century egg tofu and hot beancurd dish. For the drink, I decided to try something unique and ordered the chrysanthemum milk tea. Definitely did not disappoint as there was a strong chrysanthemum taste and this ended the meal on a pleasant note :) Will be back for more!
Tried this for the first time and I would say they have pretty solid korean food. I enjoyed the kimchi pancake as the edges were crispy and there was so much kimchi inside!! Really loved the pancakes as you seldom get that much kimchi. Also loved and would highly recommend the galbi as it was juicy and had so much flavour. Overall good place for authentic korean food! Prices are very reasonable as well 😊
Went on a weekday and ordered the batang/grouper with prawns soup. The person manning the stall was very friendly and gave us some recommendations. We also added on braised duck wings. The soups were rich and very flavourful. Portions were very generous. The prawns were very sweet which complemented the flavour of the seafood soup
Just a stone’s throw away from sixth avenue MRT so it was very convenient! Loved the ambience of the place and the staff were very friendly. Ordered the Honey Mustard Ribs and Cubano Sandwich and was shocked at how huge the portions were. Definitely value for money!
For dessert, we had the Apple Blueberry Cobbler and New York Cheesecake. Both were served with vanilla ice cream. Was impressed with the cheesecake as it had a subtle lemony flavour which I felt paired well with the ice cream. It ended the meal on a light a pleasant note. Would definitely go back again for a meal :)
Ordered a strawberry yoghurt and purple rice yoghurt. Overall I felt that the fillings were very generous especially with the strawberry sauce. The sweetness of the strawberry sauce countered the tart strawberry flavour. I felt that the contrast paired very well. The purple rice yoghurt was also very good. Filling was generous. Would also like to commend on the staff manning the store as they were very fast paced.
Beef wellington was superb and tender. Although we did wait ~45 mins, I did feel like it was worth the wait. Bookings do have to be made 1-2 weeks in advance as they can get quite packed. Wellington easily feeds 2-3 people as the serving size is huge. Comes with 2 sides which as truffle mashed potatoes and maple carrots. Overall, I would come back again!
