Wen Kang Ji was a very popular WTM stall at the basement of Golden Mile food centre. I recalled queuing over 30mins previously there.

Wen Keng Ji have since shifted from there, operated in Tampines 1 Kopitiam before shuttering there as well.

Wen Kang Ji have since opened up a few branches throughout Singapore, at Wisma Atria and most recently at CCK lot1.

Thomson plaza outlet here is located within Koufu.

1 thing very constant at WKJ, is their Char Siew, well marinated and each slice of char siew have a good portion of Fat/Meat ratio. Tasted rather good, not too hard and not too dry.

The Wanton and dumplings were bigger than most other WTM stalls.

$8.80 Portion comes with a dumpling.

A solid plate of Wanton Mee.

The Roasted chicken was tender and not dry whatsoever. Rice was fragrant & flavourful.

Chilli was very good too.

Evertop may be serving the best halal chicken rice I ever had.

Both the Steam & Roasted chicken are good.

Buffet at $19.90 net per pax.

Huang Lao Dou recently opened at Yishun 761. (Update: 15th Dec last day, relocation planned)

They have ala carte menu also.

Their signature here is definitely their Chicken Hotpot.

Buffet for 5 pax above, u can request to open 2 pots. Thus, we decided to go for the herbal chicken pot and the original chicken hotpot.

Herbal Chicken pot was only so-so.

But the Chicken Hotpot was rather good, u can choose your spiciness level, we went medium spicy and the soup was flavourful and the spiciness level for medium was slightly just above our threshold.

Golden Banana used to be rather popular at Golden Mile Complex, and like a few other F&B establishments from there have now shifted to City Gate.

Now situated on 2nd storey of City gate, golden banana is certainly a must have for me. Everytime before I leave city gate, I will definitely get a packet of golden banana.

Taste almost like Goreng pisang that is much sweeter and crisper. Shiok!

This is Chinese mee siam, not as tangy & sour.

But taste very good in my opinion.

The gravy is more thick & milky, like machiam mee siam curry.

Served with hard boiled egg, lots of beancurd bits, spring onions & some dried shrimps.

The queue here at 9am weekend is long. Queued for nearly 20mins

Stewed Beef slice, onions, rice, house made marinate and sauce, shibazuke, onsen egg, spring onions.

The Gyudon here is rather popular, it was initially on the menu for 2 months, but has now become been extended till further notice.

Overflow with spring onions and topped with an onsen egg. U have to really stirred the egg into the entire dish to really feel the shiokness of this gyudon. I added an additional onsen egg as I liked my gyudon extra eggy.

The beef slices were tender and was well marinated, was not dry whatsoever.

The Fish & Chips here is 1 of their signature item, and priced at $17 be4 GST.

The F&C comes with fries(which u can opt for cheese/truffle with additional top up $$), I opted for the cheese sauce, which was served seperately.

The Fish was well Battered and the batter tasted good and it was crispy.

Overall felt this was rather good, but felt it was rather expensive for fish & Chips.

Check their Instagram for updates before coming, as they sometimes open pop-up shops at events.

Signature OG burger comes with 2 beef patties, caramelised onions, Cheese & Mayo.

The beef patties were ucey juicy and perfectly charred at the edges for a little crisp in the patties.

One of the better burgers I had. Damn shiok. Maybe 3 patties next time.

Spicy and tasted rather good. Sambal was flavourful & spicy enough. Ikan bilis was crispy and not "winded" whatsoever

Chicken was pre-cooked and microwaved before serving though. Definitely was not roasted upon order.

Kaya Toast Set @$5
+$1.20 to change drink to Iced Milo

Kaya Toast Ala carte @ $2

By far, the best kaya toast I ever had.

The ratio of kaya & butter was precisionly just right.

Every table of hokkien mee, will have a plate of these awesome Kaya toast.

Just be ready for the long waiting time, for the hokkien mee, as well as for the Kaya Butter Toast.

Limited number of tables, so be ready to queue for food and queue for tables during peak lunch & Dinner hours.

One of the better mee siam I will ever have.

Original gravy damn good on its own, flavourful

Mix with sambal, a little sweeter and spicier, but still good.

Squeeze Lime on it, mind-blowingly good, the flavours just picks up. 🤯
