Bringing my oversea friends to have a try on our local favourite chili crab, and Uncle Leong Seafood is one of the pioneer restaurants serving this signature dish.

The size of crab would be based on the size of people eating, which this portion is recommended for 3 of us.

Spicy enough but I myself eating for so many times, I find their version was a bit more watery. Wasnโ€™t thicker from what Iโ€™m expecting.

When come to Uncle Leong, surely have to eat their crabs. Although their signature dish is the Simmering Sand & Bee Hoon Soup, I just can't stop myself from ordering my favourite Chilli Crab.

Decided to get a medium size crab, which usually range from 1.1kg to 1.2kg. And we were served with a 1.1kg Male crab.

For those who aren't sure what's the difference between a Male and female Crab, the female crab generally has smaller Claws as compared to the male crab. But the female crab has crab roe in it.

The Crab at uncle leong is definitely fresh, meat was soft and had a hint of sweetness.

The chilli was good as well, but it's much more spicer than the usual chilli crabs I had. Generous amount of sauce as well, no need worry not enough.

First time I had Uncle Leong, was way back in 2011, way back when they were situated at Ang Mo Kio, just across the car park from Mellben Seafood(which is still there now)

The Guinness Pork Ribs were quite good, with crispy edges. I was expecting a slight bitterness due to the Guinness, but it was actually rather fragrant. The pork meat was tender and easy to eat. Most of the meat has been de-boned as well.

Generous serving of thick bee hoon in a rich,ย flavourful and milkyย broth. The savoury broth has been simmered for hours that just packed deep and sweet flavours with natural goodness from the crab. Itโ€™s simply delicious and super satisfying ใ€‹$93.50/1.1kg

Itโ€™s not our first visit, weโ€™ve been here before and have always enjoyed their food! Worth for money and many dishes here are very tasty! Very homely and satisfying! โ €
- Mini Wok Beancurd gravy is very appetising with a lil kick of spiciness in it, comes with minced meat, beancurds, prawns and a fried egg underneath! โ €
- Salted Egg Brinjal is very special, deep fried crunchy brinjal coated with a light salted egg paste and topped with some floss! โ €
- Curry Paste Venison is amazing addictive!! Soft, tender texture and curry paste gravy is so fragrant, goes so well with a plate of white rice! โ €
- Sambal Kang Kong is delicious and not too spicy, and oily too! Super shiok! Dislike some other sambal Kang Kong out there that are just soaked in chilli oil. โ €

Pricey but very yummy. Only medium crabs were available that day, so we got one pepper crab and one bee hoom crab as well as various dishes. Total bill came up to almost $300 for a family for 6 so not cheap at all, but for crab in Singapore this is pretty much what you pay.
Bee hoom soup was very sweet and yummy and pepper crab was addictively savory. Nice place by the waterway to come for special occasions.
Only criticism would be on service because it's sometimes hard to get attention of the staff and our beehoon crab came quite late (almost after we finished all the other food already). Food itself was great.
