Haven't been to Mellben in a really long time and I miss having Mellben’s crab done in its signature way. The milky broth is thick, rich, creamy and beamed with sweetness from the crab. The crab was fresh and succulently sweet with chunks of meat coming off cleanly.
A generous helping of thick bee hoon in a broth that comes with rich and sweet crab flavours. It was not my first time having this but it's my first time visiting this outlet and felt that the taste of the broth is not as rich and savoury compared to the other outlets in Tebing Lane and TPY. I would still prefer to return to the other outlets for my next crab bee hoon.
Generous serving of thick bee hoon in a rich, flavourful and milky broth. The savoury broth has been simmered for hours that just packed deep and sweet flavours with natural goodness from the crab. It’s simply delicious and super satisfying 》$93.50/1.1kg
The deep, rich and sweet 🦀 flavours were executed perfectly in the unami and savory broth. Furthermore, it comes with a generous portion of thick bee hoon (served in another large bowl seperately w/o crab)》$88.90 (1kg 🦀)
You know they are generous with XO in the soup when I can smell it while the dish is being served. Crab was juicy sweet and tasty together with the savoury soup. Never give this a miss if you are ever going to the extreme end of Punggol for Dai Lou! 》$41
Prefect TGIF with fresh crabby in sweet and spicy chilli crab sauce together with those heavenly fried mantou 》$67.50 / 900g
Who doesn't love crabs? The milky soup base is the bomb and it's comparable to melben's crab bee hoon soup too! 😍 Definitely an alternative when I'm craving for some good crab bee hoon with shorter waiting time 👍
Another signature would be the white pepper crabs. They only serve small crabs at fixed price and if anyone wants bigger crab would have to make advance order. The shells are crushed neatly and it’s very easy to eat. Crabs here are fresh and solid, drowned in garlic and white pepper sauce 》2 for $51
My family is always back here for crabs because they are really awesome here. Another point is because the boss here is somewhat related to my family in my Parents and Grandparents generation so we feel safe and definitely won’t get scam for the small crab (merchant declaring fake weight) and scary price tag out there. Why bother to risk when we have an all time awesome place here?
They have recently ‘upgraded’ their chilli crab sauce so it’s spicier now. It’s my first time trying the upgraded sauce and it’s still good and indeed spicier so people who can’t take spiciness, remember to request for less spicy. Oh not forgetting their mantou… everyone here falls in love with it 》$162 for 2.7kg Crabs
Their restaurant speciality is their black pepper crab. They are very generous with their black pepper sauce. The sauce is thick and you don't get to see bit of pepper in it. That's how fine their black pepper suace is. It is spicy and smooth! It's totally worth my try. I will try their chilli crab on my next visit.
Been here for a few times but this is my 2nd time ordering a crab from them and it's probably the worst choice.
Firstly, this dish came late. Everyone around the table is done with dinner and we just sat there for another 15 mins just to wait for this plate of pepper crab.
After waiting for so long, we were shocked by the size of the crab served. This is the smallest and meatless crab we have eaten as a family (we usually have a 1.2kg crabby). We ordered pepper crab but upon cracking the shells from the pincers, chilli crab sauce gush out 😨 why are there chilli crab sauce soaked in there covered with black pepper sauce?!
The bill came and the crab cost $90 with weight stated at 1.5kg. Seriously?! That's obviously less than 1kg of crab. Very dishonest and seriously overcharging 😠
Chilli crab and 馒头 (steamed bun) for dinner. A very sinful dinner coz we only had one crabby dish for dinner. We get to choose from the tank of live crabs and they will weigh it for us to see. Crabs are sweet and the gravy is rich but not too spicy.

I'm in a relationship with food. Why can't we just declare our never ending love and vows towards some food item? I'm sure that would not result in divorces.
