My favourite ❤️ local breakfast food.

When it comes to kaya toast, I would choose white over brown bread at anytime. I also prefer thin-cut to thick-sliced toast if given a choice. This version hits the right spot! It is made of thin, white bread that is lightly toasted with a delicate crispness; sliced in half and smeared with sweet coconut egg jam with a pat of cold butter. 😋

❤️ this fried pork chop and crinkle-cut fries smothered in mouth-watering & intensely sweet, rich ‘ketchupy’ sauce. 😋

I never knew but it seems their rice standards just fluctuates, today it was softer and much better

Also their ckn thigh is thickly cut, it's good but somehow it's quite white, it's closer to breast than ckn drumstick so I prefer the drumstick

Idk if this is the correct stall. But it's definitely this hawker, and the roasted ckn was v dry. Not good at all

Chili was v sharp, quite decent

2 regular rice is more than enough to feed 3

Their gizzard and liver were all well cooked, hardly any stench

When eating at a Hainanese establishment such as here, 1 of the menu items that usually catch my eyes, is the sweet and sour sauce dishes.

The Chicken "Chop" here is fried like machiam Cutlet. It was crispy & the chicken was tender as well.

Sauce was a little too sweet for me though.

This set comes with white rice as well.

Rice was chewy but the flavour was lacking

Tofu sauce was alright but it's too hard.

Ckn was tough and way too parsimonious

Cucumber was nice tho, and generous

Overall very overpriced and not good either

Not sure if it's mistake but the thigh and drumstick seem to be quite different, feels like the drumstick is much more smooth and jelly than the thigh

Prices definitely went up

I'm beginning to appreciate their hard rice. The hard rice makes it seem like their chicken is even more tender comparatively, and it seems like that's what they were going for

Everything was consistent

Liver was pretty decent.

White Ckn was quite tender and slightly Salted, the Base sauce is exactly the same flavour. Not your usual soy based sauce

Achar was nice, but entirely without heat.

Overall pretty good portion for the price, queue is long but moves reasonably

One craves for chicken rice while the other is craving for steamboat.
So, we settled for this steamboat set with a combination of Hainan chicken, chicken rice and an assortment of ingredients including beef slice, fish, prawn, surimi crab meat, mushroom, enoki, beancurd roll and vegetable.

🫶🏻 the poached chicken with an ultra smooth skin and tender meat served with aromatic, non-greasy rice.
And we love the chicken soup base too, as it’s super-tasty and rich in flavour! 😋

P.S. Thankful for this precious bonding time with my loved ones on a weekday noon. ❣️

Half roasted and white chicken $18
Sambal Kangkong $7.90

The Thai white chicken is smooth. The sambal kangkong is spicy and crunchy.
