Mom misses the popiah at this unpretentious shop located at a rather ulu corner of coronation plaza, so here we are!
Their crowd favourite popiah is packed to the brim with ingredients including sweet sauce, stewed turnips, chunky hard boiled eggs, beansprouts, cucumber and carrot strips and the iconic crunchy rice bits!

Amazing portion of chicken teriyaki bento.
Fluffy rice, sliced watermelon and salad.
Highly recommended!
Back with my Mee Siam adventure! 🥢
I wonder if the shop name came after shortlisting the shop? As the name suggests, the shop does exist in a cozy corner with little seats. Not that I have to wait long for a seat, as many are takeaway orders.
A satisfying Mee Siam! Gravy was thick, chilli does pack a punch. Though I personally prefer a more sour base, will request for more lime the next time.
Can’t wait to have my next Mee Siam!
I would suggest to go for the popiah and skip their mains as their mains are pretty expensive. The popiah was really filling and the ingredients were filled to the brim. Will be back for their popiah again😋👍
Cosy corner don’t just make a mean popiah ,
The mee siam is one of the best I have had .
Well balanced between that tangy Assam and just a slight wee bit of coconut - not too much . The gravy also has the right consistency - neither too watery nor too thick .
I have tasted too many mee Siams to know a really good one and none can come close to this standard .
Mee siam was also served piping hot and all the condiments were fresh .
Eating at this place makes you feel like home .
The popiah skin was thin, and I liked the crispy bits which gave a nice crunch. It actually tasted quite clean and not too heavy, but the turnips could have been slightly juicier. Overall, there’s a good proportion of skin, sauce and ingredients. Not bad but also not memorable. Also, the chili version is apparently very spicy according to my friend, so opt for the non-spicy version if you have a low spice tolerance.

The best Kueh Pie Tie I’ve had! The cup is so crispy and fragrant. Love how we can DIY our own Kueh Pie Tie with how much chilli 🌶 or coriander leaves
I went because I love popiah and this is lauded as the best in Singapore?
Popiah with turnips, lots of bean sprouts, lots of eggs, peanuts, crispy bits and fried shallots. I like the soft popiah skin, the crunch from the crispy elements and that it was not wet/soggy, which is good as I hate wet popiah.
The unique thing about their popiah are the fried shallots - I don’t see fried shallots in popiah elsewhere - and chilli - which tasted like chicken rice chilli.
It was a 30 minute wait on a weekend afternoon. The popiah is nice but I wouldn’t wait 30 minutes for it again. There are other comparable popiah places in Singapore.
I love cosy corner popiah; not the best after it’s been dabao’ed, but brings back memories of queuing up in the cramped (but it’s a cosy corner!) space.

Set of 6 Kueh Pie Tie that you DIY the filling/coriander/chilli. The golden cups are so crispy! Turnips filling is generous. Really tasty 👍🏻
I’ve been eating popiah from My Cosy Corner for about 6 years now since I moved into the area. The popiah ($2.50) here is a fan favourite and it’s not hard to see why. The chewy popiah skin is lashed with fiery Nonya sambal and garlic, then topped with bungkwang (chinese turnip), crumbled egg and crispy rice. Every order is made fresh, so my advice if you’re taking this away, is to make a beeline here to place your order, then run your errands around the shopping centre - you know, groceries from NTUC, pet supplies from Pet Lovers etc. Then return to collect.
Interesting diy concept that lets you modulate the spice level to your tasting! The marinated radish was really flavourful and it’s unlike any other that I’ve had :)
‘Best popiah in sg’? It’s a little underwhelming at first, but you’ll gradually come to enjoy it :) Really liked the sauce they marinated the radish with, and the big chunks of boiled egg!
Apart from the famous popiah, the peranakan good is actually really good here too!
Rich and fragrant broths are to die for!
Since we’re in the area, definitely have to come for the best popiah!! $2.50 each for this yumminess 😋 The chewy skin is my favourite part!! Love the generous amount of egg and crispy bits. Chilli is very shiok too 🌶
This popiah was bursting with lots of ingredients, goes to show how “po” (thin) its wrapping skin was! The flavours were bursting too, with its Peranakan-style chili and lots of crisps that made its texture crunchy yet moist to devour. Ordered one piece for a quick snack!
After placing our order, the #kuehpietee came immediately while the popiah took about 25 mins. While slightly expensive, the popiah is a generous big roll with thin soft skin packed with tasty ingredients of chinese radish & boiled egg, and was surprisingly filling. The special addition of crispy bits adds a nice crunch and texture. The Kueh pie tee is a do-it-yourself style with chili & greens at the side. It was perfectly crispy but we wished for it to have maybe some eggs/ prawns beyond just turnip to give a more well-rounded flavour

The title of “best popiah” elicits variegated responses but I like to call this (at the very least) the gold standard. There’s a whole lot of goodness packed into a singular roll, bound by a fleetingly sweet black sauce and encompassed by a layer of wafer-thin wrap (包饼皮): crispy garlic bits, sliced eggs, and savoury preserved radishes which moisten but not drench. Every roll is unabashedly lavished with fried garlic and finishes off with a lingering, defining fragrance.
Cosy Corner is also famous for its array of authentic Peranakan cuisines, but its popiah alone is enough reason to pilgrim to the West.
🏅 10/10
💭 MUST TRY
Famous for their popiah, their kueh pie tee is equally as good since it uses pretty much the same type of ingredients. The cups are perfectly crispy, and beware of the chilli as it packs a punch! Just be warned that one dish might not be enough, it comes with 6 pieces per order!
PRICE: $5 mee siam (+$1.50 for prawns)
REMARKS:
The crispy deep fried tofu puffs were the highlight for me in this average but pricey mee siam
WILL WE RETURN? Not for the Mee Siam. Popiah was nice though. Above average.
