Enjoy the best of both worlds (Shabu Shabu & Yakiniku) with @shaburikintan.sg all-you-can-eat buffet!

They have recently launched a new seasonal Hokkaido Festival Menu, featuring unlimited Hokkaido meat cuts (Pork Collar/Jowl/Belly), Ramen Salad, Potato Mochi, Crab & Potato Croquette, Sapporo Miso Ramen, Hokkaido Milk Ice Cream and many more!

This buffet is a bang for your buck because for under $40, you get to enjoy a wide variety of meat, vegetables, noodles, rice, side dishes, dessert and drinks! You can select Single Pot for the individual hotpot or top up $1 for the Twin Pot. Choose the soup bases from Original Konbu, Chicken Collagen Paitan, Hot Miso, Tonkotsu, or Sukiyaki.

A secret hack I learnt is to grill the potato mochi! Trust me and try them out for yourself! It's so good!

The seasonal Hokkaido Festival Menu is only available for a limited time only, so hit them up soon!

The choice to choose between Yakiniku or Shaburi Shabu-Shabu, went for the latter because the slots for Yakiniku was packed all the way. Thankfully my friend went to get Q number early at 5+pm and we were informed of an available slot at 7pm.

Upgraded to the Special Shabu, so its 90 mins dining time, with more choices of meat. I usually go for beef 🥩 when it comes to Japanese hotpot, and preferred Angus Beef here compared to Tasty Beef as I prefer less fats in meats generally.

Individual Twin Pot for soup, Tonkotsu and Hot Miso. Tonkotsu was satisfying, rich broth and doesn’t interfere much with the taste of the ingredients. Hot Miso was lackluster, doesn’t pack as much flavor and spiciness as I would like.

For drinks bar, an array of cooked food and other ingredients there will be lists of papers to order due to the covid situation now. Would recommend this place for their Shaburi Shabu-shabu due to the quality of the meat and at least I discovered a broth I really like on my first try!

Had the premium ($46.8++) buffet and it was worth every cent! The steaks were unbelievably tender and juicy, and we repeated the order for like 5 times. Gyu tan was a delight too!

Went straight for the kintan buffet! Enjoyed the gyutan (beef tongue) and beef slices thoroughly. Their chawanmushi packs a punch and I devoured 2 cups during the buffet. The time limit is 90min, of which the first 70 min can be used to order food. As for the remaining 20 min, you can’t order any more food. You can still take the food from their cooked food and salad bars. I enjoyed the pork miso soup as well! Their staff was attentive and kept clearing the empty plates. You can also request to change the grill when it gets too charred.

Worth trying! A little pricey but good for special occasions!

Im telling you this chawanmushi is loaded. Choke full of mushrooms and chicken and seafood it's no wonder they serve it in small cups and fill it only half full else it would be too easy devouring a bowl of that. As a proud self proclaimed buffet strategist who maximises value and taste, i can tell you that this is good enuf to warrant a second cup during a yakuniku buffet.

They also provide gyutan(beef tongue). Really hard to grill since they keep folding up and the clumsy tongs dont help, as well as so easy to overcook due to its thinness, it really calls for 100% attention but it's so worth the effort.

I would definitely advice the short ribs(kalbi) as it's very flavourful and has enuf fat as well. The leaner muscles tend to dry out as the juices escape since the heat isnt enough to sear the meat quickly so i'd advise skipping the lean cuts and go for the fatty ones :D
