Salted Caramel x Hojicha ($9.50) I did proposed to walk there for ice cream lol but it's such a long journey tbh. But then I didn't regretted to do that bc their location was out of the way for trying their ice cream. But their signature flavour (Salted Caramel) just felt me "wow" and savoury taste whereas their tea flavour was just meh like milky and not much roasted tea taste tbh.

Went to Salted Caramel recently and ordered a double scoop Earl Grey and Lemon Cheesecake ($8.50)😇 Still one of my favourite ice cream joints and tried several different flavours but all are good😍 Overall ratings 10/10 definitely coming back again!!

One of the popular spots to chill out along Upper Thomson Road.

For first timers here I definitely recommend to go with their signature salted caramel, which very strong on the taste itself; making it creamy and tasty.

Love the minimalistic vibes in this cafe with great Westlife songs. We tried the Horlick Tim Tam flavour and Espresso Caramel Biscuit flavours. Both are impressive! Not too sweet but very flavourful. Quality ice cream with nice fluffy waffles and maple syrup.

After multiple visits to Salted Caramel, we decided to go for something new and not get their usual best-selling flavours (e.g., pistachio and salted caramel). After much deliberation, we got the Horlicks Tim Tam flavour in the end. It was fairly affordable because this was a non-premium flavour and it was around $3.50!

While the crunch from the Tim Tam (these are legit Tim Tam chunks) was interesting, we were quite disappointed that the Horlicks flavour was really mild. We would have preferred if the malty taste of Horlicks was brought out more strongly!

Salted Caramel was fairly empty when we visited at around 2 pm on a Sunday, which was surprising since we expected many in the area to head over for a post-lunch dessert.

Went to Salted Caramel and ordered their homemade waffle with speculoos + blue milk ice cream😋 Paid about $12 iirc and shared it with a friend😄 I loved the combi of these 2 icecreams as speculoos is generally more sweet while blue milk is less sweet (more to milky and creamy flavour)

Overall ratings would have to be a 9/10 as it is one of my favourite ice cream stores🥰 Would definitely be back again!

Rum & Raisin - could have been stronger

Lemon Cheesecake - tangy lemon curd & rich with crunchy graham. this was gooddd

Waffles - it’s not crispy but it didn’t get soggy quickly!

Salted Caramel Sauce- picked this because it’s not commonly offered as a drizzle (and because the place is deadass called Salted Caramel)

You can tell from the colour that it's gonna be too milky. It was too sweet and bland for a hojicha latte as well. Wouldn't recommend this if you've tried better hojicha lattes as this is going to be a disappointment! Stick to their ice creams!

One of the better ice cream waffles we've tasted so far! Waffle texture was light and fluffy and they were dusted with cinnamon and icing sugar. We really liked that they added cinnamon! We also opted for the chocolate sauce (you can choose between choc, maple and salted caramel) and we were glad that it came in a separate mini jar, since we didn't like it. The chocolate sauce was too sweet and would mask both the waffle and the ice cream.

As for the ice creams, the texture were great as they were really soft and smooth. The salted caramel was creamy like toffee while the pistachio was really nutty as we like it.

Overall, the price point is great and this is a good place to chill especially after a meal or a hike at macritchie nearby.

We decided not to be mainstream today and we didn't get the flavours that we usually get (and are really popular), including the roasted pistachio and the salted caramel flavours. Instead, we decided to try two flavours that we haven't tried before: the rum & raisin and ispahan flavours!

The rum & raisin did not have as much alcoholic taste as we would have liked, although the raisins were surprisingly sweet and packed a really strong alcoholic punch at the same time. Eat the rum & raisin scoop quickly because it melts really fast!

The ispahan flavour was really interesting and it is a blend of rose, lychee and raspberry flavours! The taste reminded us of bandung though, because the taste of rose dominates the other tastes, and the lychee flavour was really subtle.

Pretty worth it for $7.60 and certainly an eye-opening experience (especially the ispahan flavour). 😋😋

Price is a bit cheaper than next door udders.
Recommend the stout flavour which has that hint of bitterness.
Waffles were light and fluffy too.

Perfect dessert after having prata next door

💸: $12~

💬: Can't remember the actual price, but it wasn't worth it HAHAHA
Their waffles aren't good, but still better than Udders

$8.9. Got the waffles + a scoop of Gold Digger icecream, drizzled with salted caramel. Was good! The icecream had a bit of honey inside and went well w the warm waffles.

Stopped by this place after a hearty bowl of wonton mee next door.

The salted caramel flavours were a tad too salty for my liking. The earl grey was divine and the horlicks tim tam was a good adaptation on both flavours.

I would skip the salted caramel flavour if I had to order again :)

Ice cream always a delight to have.
Salted Caramel & Horlicks Tim Tam.
Sweet malted and salted...
Come, let’s go again!

Finally got around to having a post-dinner treat here, and as a self-professed ice cream aficionado I must say this place is legit! We got the roasted pistachio (+$1) and the stout chocolate w/ waffles (total $11.80). The other reviews are right in saying they probably have the best pistachio ice cream around town - each bite comes with a full-bodied roasted flavor that rounds up the nuttiness perfectly. The stout chocolate is just the right level of sweet and has a distinct alcohol overtone that adds a satisfying kick to the overall flavor! Only negative point would be the lack of parking :-(

Popped by when I was in the area! Salted Caramel boasts of egg-free ice cream made in house daily, using fresh and natural ingredients. Tried a double scoop ($6.80) of dark chocolate and roasted pistachio - both were richly flavoured and creamy, a real indulgence! Found the ice cream to be a little sweet though, and would definitely enjoy having some variation in texture.

Had a craving for ice cream.

I must say. The salted Caramel here us really good.

👍👍

After our long hike on a hot day, we desperately need something to cool down and chance upon this yellow toned ice cream shop in upper Thomson. Checking their website reveals it to be a popular choice in the hood. 😍
.
We tried their double scoops (hoji-cha & lemon cheesecake ice creams) with a surprise. You can taste a roasted Japanese green tea aroma for the Hoji-cha scoop. This is paired with not so sour & right amount of sweetness from lemon cheesecake scoop. It is so good that it deserves a hidden gem category instead of our usual sweet treat album. 👍😁
.
P.S. Only accept cash or coins if your total purchase is less than $10. We gotta order long black $3.50 to stay above $10; however, we are impressed that our long black is full bodied & served with a crunchy biscuit! 😍
