From the Burpple community

A restaurant located in a HDB estate with simple decor, it makes up for its unpretentiousness with great tasting food and excellent service.

We ordered Dip Part Platter $18.90 which comes with pita bread and 4 different dips (spicy feta, cod roe l, roasted egg plant and yogurt) for sharing. Also ordered a Herb Rub Beef Wrap $17.90, a Herb Beef Skewer (20.90) and a Lamb Skewer ($19.90).

The Dip Party Platter consists of 13 pieces of quadrant cut pita bread. I liked the Cod Roe Dip and Roasted Egg Plant Dip especially. The Herb Rub Beef and the Beef skewers were over cooked, with the beef borderline leathery in texture. The lamb was done just nice and no gaminess was detected.

I think I need to come back for more pita bread and also try their Htapodi (grilled octopus).

Another great concept by the Black Hole Group offering Greek food in the West.

The platter came served with pitas smelling like amazing pizza crust, looking absolutely igworthy with the char and salt flake garnish and tasting very much as expected.

The four dips were pretty good as well - a cod roe which had a strong fishy taste but in a good way reminiscent of yummy brand canned tuna, cucumber yoghurt which was most neutral and easiest to eat, roasted eggplant tasting like a strong meat marinade, and spicy feta which was creamy with a lingering warmth.

Ordered a lemon chicken gyro [18.90] to accompany the carbs and really enjoyed that too. Chicken was tender but the fries really stole the show with its holy trinity of light, golden and fluffy.

Please read my other review on the meats.

Similarly, the dips are good but they gave too few pita bread to mop everything up. Had to reorder pita which was more expensive and smaller in quantity as the pita served with the platter. 🥲

The platter consisted of:
1x lamb skewer
1x beef skewer
1x sausage
a few pieces of chicken thigh
a smattering of roasted potatoes
onion, tomato and tzaiziki

Suffice to say that we felt completely ripped off, especially because our first choice had been the a la carte meat dishes but we were told that they were unavailable and we had to purchase the platter if we wanted any meat. I thought that was slightly suspicious but didn’t make a big deal out of it until I saw the meagre portion of meat on the platter - we felt completely played! 🤡

The meats are all right but I would not revisit because this feeling of being scammed left me very bitter toward the restaurant.

This place is a cosy space that is situated at HomeTeam NS @ Bukit Batok. It’s quiet and cosy. The meat is also succulent and tasty, and makes for an intimate gathering.
