From the Burpple community

This place is famous for offering good deal for crabs, and they also have a great selection of cooking styles (chili, cereal, salted egg, kam xiang, etc..)

Preferred the salted egg over their chili sauce.
Do order the fried man tou to soak up the sauce which was thick with flavors

However, dont expect too much for the meat itself. But, at this price point, you can't expect a restaurant quality meaty crab. No issues with me since I always enjoy scooping up the gravy with fried man tou over the crab heh

♡ The freshness of the crab
☆ 1 for $35 (large)

Side note: The kangkong was very nice too!

Never thought that you could eat the shell of a hard shell crab? Neither do I, but you can do that here 🤤 The salted egg crab is fried beforehand and then cooked with the sauce, that is my new obsession with crab. The classic chilli crab is a good one too! With the thick egg chilli sauce. And what's eating chilli crab without fried man tou? The man tou is so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside

Had only 2 crabs with chili sauce plus small mantou ($2 for 6 pieces) And its very satisfying for both of us! The portion is just right for us and the sauce is not too spicy but still very tasty. Recommend!

Head to this zi char stall in Hougang for a crab feast that wouldn't break the bank. The Sri Lankan crabs here are priced at $40 for two sizeable crustaceans. The only downside is that they only allow one style of cooking for two crabs; consider following in Burppler Kelly Must Eat's footsteps and ordering four crabs instead! There are about 16 different cookings styles to choose from but the classics are still what the Burpple community favours. The crowd-pleasing salted egg sauce is flawlessly buttery and creamy, while Burppler Tansy loved that they were generous with the eggs in the mildly spicy chilli sauce. Just be mindful that there are two salted egg preparations for the crabs — one wet and one dry; the wet is highly recommended and better for dipping mantous into. The zi char spread here is decent, but save your tummies for the crabs. A simple plate of Seafood Fried Rice ($6) works as a canvas for soaking up any remaining sauce.

$40 for 2 crabs.... But they only allow 1 style of cooking. So we'd 2 types of cooking for 4 crabs.
Chilli and white pepper. It's Yummilious.
