Not the first time I’ve had their sundubu, but first time on miso base and with asari clams. Miso base was a bit salty for me but goes well with rice & beer. I wish i ordered something else other than clams tho, the meat was too small snd all the broken shells in soup was not quite worth the trouble 🤣. Unfortunately it doesn’t best my current fave soondubu which is just $8

- I enjoyed the Japanese twist to the classic Korean dish with the addition of miso for a richer and thicker flavour 😋
- Variety of ingredients with silky soft tofu which was my favourite, prawns, clams, chicken, spring onions, egg and corn!!
- Short-grain Japanese rice was plump, slightly sweet and chewy but not too sticky or moist, I usually leave my plain rice at the end but I finished this 🍚
- Carrots and cabbage sides were peppery fragrant and crunchy! [8/10]

- Some edges of the korean pancake were a bit charred and hard.
- Very crispy and crunchy outsides but quite oily.
- Mostly potatoes, was expecting melty cheesiness but it’s almost absent 🥲 [5.5/10]

Ordered chicken vege sundubu $16++ and you can choose your soup base (salt and ginger / miso / non-spicy) and spicy level. I had miso less spicy and it was good 😋 It comes with 2 clams as well. I liked this more than sbdc as sbdc is q ex and there’s more seasoning and less soup. Would come back again

$16 before svc charge gst, comes with rice and some small side dishes. Tofu is very silky and goes well with the stew. Ordered level 3 spiciness (out of 4) and they called it ‘Singaporean standard’ (level 2 is ‘Japanese standard) but it felt like a normal budae jiggae spiciness level to me

This Basic + 3 kinds of mushroom Sundubu was delightful; exactly the kind of hot soupy goodness that acts as comfort food on a cold night. I opted for the Japanese spiciness (Level 2), which was just nice for me because I didn’t want an overly spicy meal. My tolerance for spiciness is quite low!

The soup went very well with the rice, as well as the tofu. Will try the pork gyoza version the next time! Just to note, it’s slightly on the pricey side and the portion is just nice for one person (maybe too little for a big eater though), but still worth another visit :-)
