I am now a soondubu convert after trying this place :-) The soondubu is handmade and silken and really quite wonderful! I got the ham & cheese rendition ($21.90), which is rather pricey especially for luncheon meat, but it was still worth paying for - and it tastes like army stew!
The sides are very generous as well and I must say this meal fills you up really quickly even though it doesn’t feel like a sizable portion. Definitely worth a visit!
This Basic + 3 kinds of mushroom Sundubu was delightful; exactly the kind of hot soupy goodness that acts as comfort food on a cold night. I opted for the Japanese spiciness (Level 2), which was just nice for me because I didn’t want an overly spicy meal. My tolerance for spiciness is quite low!
The soup went very well with the rice, as well as the tofu. Will try the pork gyoza version the next time! Just to note, it’s slightly on the pricey side and the portion is just nice for one person (maybe too little for a big eater though), but still worth another visit :-)
