This place was recommended by one of my foodie friends! While I donโ€™t particularly like steamboat, I found myself really enjoying the food at this one, as the soup base (signature soup base) was tasty, the service was good, and the food we ordered came fairly quickly.

Would recommend this place; the prices were still fairly reasonable although just a little bit to the expensive side - we spent about $50/pax.

My familyโ€™s favourite place for steamboat! We usually get the fish porridge, which is so generous in sliced fish serving!

โœ”๏ธSuper tasty home-made broth
โœ”๏ธGood quality ingredients - they hand make a number of ingredients there right at the store (sometimes youโ€™ll get to see them making), love the fish and meat balls and various pastes (fish/prawn/etc)
โœ”๏ธ Cooked food is good too, we love the fried brinjal here!

The downside is the food is pretty expensive! But we end up still coming back all the time because the food quality and taste makes it really worth it. Highly recommend!!!

My rating: 5/5!!!

Tasty soup broths (shark bone and cartilage brewed soup base) and fresh ingredients (kurobuta pork, USA prime beef, prawn pastes, handmade fishballs, prawn wantons etc) are the selling points that keep the crowds coming back to this simple no frills steamboat restaurant along Joo Chiat Road (looks almost fully booked on a Sunday evening).

While I wouldnโ€™t rate it the most budget friendly steamboat option (I prefer the prices over at ไธ€้”… at Kallang but some compromise on the ambience needs to be made for a cheaper price of $30 per pax as its at a hawker centre), I still appreciated the interesting and unique dishes offered such as the Fish Kway Teow (fish meat in the form of noodle strands-very nice texture) and drunken prawns.

I also liked their version of prawn paste, very bouncy and fresh tasting! Tom yum soup tastes more towards Chinese and not the Thai style, but still holds some standard and kick. Basic sauces - chilli padi with light soya sauce and chicken rice ish chilli available.

Would like to try more of the other handmade items such as herh keow and meat balls in my next visit!

A great alternative to the big names, there is only one broth option here which is the TTSR Special Soup Base. Taking more than 5 hours to prepare the soup base, the restaurant uses both shark bones and cartilage; yes, imagine the collagen rich soup!

There are also tze char dishes like spinach tofu ๐Ÿ˜‹ . The soup quality has been consistently good at this place. It is generally rich and naturally sweet without being salty ๐Ÿ˜‹. .
