Oh this packed such a good punch! The sambal here was really solid, spicy with a nice hae bi hiam savouriness in it. The brinjal was soft and nice, though the skin was cooked til a bit too hard.

Had this a pretty long time ago, and somehow I don’t remember it being as good as it was now. The Bak Kut Teh here was on the peppery side - just as how I liked it. For the small size, there was a good portion of pork ribs in it, with the meat being relatively tender (I’ve had way tougher ones elsewhere🫠). A good fix if you’re craving comfort food that is peppery, but I’ve got to admit that it’s one of the slightly pricier ones and there might be queue even after peak dinner hours!

First time at Sin Heng Claypot Bak Koot Teh, even though I have walked down Joo Chiat Road so many times for my entire life!

Saw some crowd at this food place so we decided to give it a go!

What we ordered:
-Bak Kut Teh (medium for $15)
-White Rice ($1): We wanted yam rice initially, but it was already sold out
-You Tiao ($2.50)
-Lime withe Prune Drink ($2)

The bak kut teh soup was a dark brown colour, however the tastes is not the herbal kind, but more of the pepperish kind, quite similar to songfa bkt i must say! The soups here are also refillable, and they give so much at one go (so much more than song fa)! Enjoyed the meal here!

Sin Heng's Special Bak Koot Teh($10) a herbal soup that's sweet, savoury and slightly thick. It's comes with pork rib, mushroom, liver, black fungus, baby corn, tofu skin and lettuce.

Fuyong Omelette($9). A slightly salty egg with lapchung, onions and spring onion which goes well with rice.

You Tiao ($2.50). It was crispy hard. Soak it in the soup and it'll absorb the soup and soften up.

Chrysanthemum tea by the pot ($4). Comes already sweetened.

Overall not too bad. Service was quick.

Available in 2 sizes, the small portion is enough for 3 pax to share with BKT. Serving took a little longer for this claypot noodles but it came piping hot in tasty thick gravy with pork slices and vegetables. It may get too salty on the buds hence I’d advise sharing this dish 》$6 / Small

The BKT consists of pork ribs, pig stomach, fried beancurd skin, straw mushroom and baby corn. The soup is like a fusion of herbal and pepper BKT, a combination of Malaysian and local styles. While the ribs were tender, the broth was not as flavourful and tasted more like soy sauce based. Soups are refillable upon request 》$10 / Small
