Came here for lunch!
Got the Wagyu Pizza($32), Hamburg Set($23.80), Striploin Sando($52), Gyu Tongue, Chawamushi($5), Ebi Sando($28).
Wagyu pizza was good. Thinly slice waygu over a crispy base, topped with refreshing ginger flower and drizzled with truffle oil.
Hamburg Set was ok. The salad is your typical vegetable with some kewpie dressing. The meat was not bad. Moist, juicy and soft but wished it was crispy on the outside.
Striploin Sando was good. Perfectly cooked meat with some mustard in between two fluffy yet crispy bread.
Gyu Tongue was a little on the tough side.
Chawamushi was bad. Did not have any dashi taste. Tasted like your regular steamed egg that you can get from a cai fan stall. Totally not worth my $5.
Ebi Sando was not bad. Crispy prawn patty with tartar sauce that reminded me of McDonald's ebi burger.
Overall would recommend the beef but skip the other items.
With a pretty concise menu, Gyu San Charcoal Barâs Hamburg Set ($23.80) was quite the substantial treat - great for slow and big eaters who can fill up with the free-flow rice as well as miso soup. Expertly grilled over the binchotan charcoal grill and served on a personal mini grill to keep them warm, the two 90g wagyu patties were both tender, succulent and juicy. Packed with finely diced onions and other seasonings, the patties were also wonderfully flavoured and especially so with the charred exterior. Overall, great even without the small array of condiments and not too greasy or cloying.
croissant amazake soft serve, with a single shot of espresso
sourdough based croissant, pistachio custard, cranberries, pistachio and dried rose petals
chefâs signature bake - flaky pastry layered with butter and caramelised sugar, with hints of vanilla and molasses
The charred octopus salad was a delight, with perfectly cooked octopus and a unique sauce made from pimento peppers.
These sliders were small but deliciously decadent. Foie gras on a burger? Yes please. There was a snapper slider option that reminded me of fish tacos. I love fish tacos. So this restaurant has met my expectations. It has a small menu but they do have some creative options that I wouldn't mind trying again :)
Servers were friendly and attentive, atmosphere was cozy and chill, and the food was superb. 10/10 would recommend the mushroom soup and uni pasta (super packed full of flavour).
Helmed by Chef Matin, Le Matin in ION Orchard offers a range of sweet and savoury pastries to hot mains. Brunch is available from Wednesdays to Sundays, and you can look forward to items such as the Summer Truffle Scrambled Eggs Croissant that is both decadent and delish. Imagine fluffy and buttery scrambled eggs with homemade truffle paste infused with preserved truffle and black truffle aioli with a round croissant burger. To elevate the dish further, it is topped with 8g of sliced summer truffles for the trufflicious experience. We had the Octopus and Sea Urchin Feuilletée which has tastes of the ocean with the sea urchin butter and the flavours balanced with the tangy pickled red onions. Lastly, the Fried Chicken Croissant has a huge piece of buttermilk fried chicken thigh and a touch of heat from the red hot morita chilli oil.
The perfect after-meal treat is the After 8 Entremet which takes inspiration from the peppermint chocolate thins layered with minty crĂ©meux and ganache. Before you end your meal, leave stomach space for the Cashew Tart and most importantly, the cheese of your dreams in the form of the Fromage de vos Reves, a tribute of Chef Matinâs to his mentor, Chef Andre. This is a heavenly blend of comte sponge reblochon creameux, and brillat savarin mousse encased in a milk crumble glaze and complemented with a crĂšme fraiche ice cream. This dessert brought us to fantasy land.
Great ambiance with beautiful decor, gives off a relaxing vibe to dine in and chill. Staff was friendly and welcoming.
Went for the popular trio sliders and I was really impressed with how the juicy beef patty, tender fish and foie gras kept building upon each other's taste profile.
What truly stood out was the Tomato Burata soup that was creamy and packed with flavour. Was truly the right dish to open up one's appeitite. Is a must try!!!
Service staff here are great! They will explain what each dish are made of and the ingredients they use etc. Ambience is also amazing, lighting is perfect for taking food images. The food here is really amazing as well. The tomato soup is well balanced with a bit if acidity topped up the cheese which add light texture to the thick soup. The cook on the truffle chicken is really good, skin is crispy and meat is tender. Scraping the plate to finish every bit if the puree. Highly recommend!
Loved the decor and the waitstaff were friendly and attentive. I had the charred octopus, trio sliders and the kumquat citrus cake.
The charred octopus was lightly charred with a delicious red chilli pepper sauce (not spicy) that complemented the octopus well. The trio sliders were also excellent, beef patties were very juicy.
Would definitely recommend coming here for its unique French fusion food that canât be found anywhere else.
