Tearing into the crispy exterior of the OVEN-BAKED PRATAS with our forks revealed fluffy layers that tasted savoury and buttery - kinda like puff pastry. Between the plain & spring onion flavour, we preferred the latter as a standalone (as it reminded us of scallion pancake/θ‘±ζ²Ήι₯Ό) but loved dipping the former into the meaty curry to soak the hearty flavours!

The Midas Touch Chicken Curry lives up to its namesake, with a robust & flavorful rempah and umami chicken broth making up the golden yellow concoction. The consistency of the Indian-Thai curry slightly leans towards the thicker side, which is good because watery curry is a no-go for me! Found it interesting that the curry also came with a hard-boiled egg, which was equally well integrated into the curry like the meat & potatoes. Our only gripe was the potatoes could be cooked longer for a softer texture, but that's just us nitpicking! πŸ²β€‰β€‰β€‰

The set is not any cheaper than ala carte(6nett for curry, 1.2nett each for "prata")

The spring onion prata and the "butter ckn" were both not available when I went at 12pm, very annoying there's something about one of them being only avail on wed and Thurs

The curry was different from normal for sure, but it's not special. It's creamier and less heavy on spices. Ckn was ckn cutlet cut into chunks and warmed in the sauce which was nice because it's boneless, but the curry doesn't penetrate as deeply as something which has been stewing in the curry for hours

The "prata" was basically pastry skin, except only the centre of the top is crispy and the rest of the "prata" is pretty flabby

Somewhat special but no need to visit, portion is hearty but price is high as well

Curry Chicken was thick and flavourful. Generous amount of chicken & Potatoes. Chicken was tender.

Their Oven-Baked Prata was crispy and comes in plain and spring onion flavour.

Overall quite filling.

7.5/10 for me. Will return to try their other dishes

πŸ˜‹πŸ”₯ Baked Roti Prata with Chicken Curry (S$7.40) in Chinatown.

First time trying oven-baked pratas. Crispy, flaky in texture, and not that oily. It reminded me of puff pastry. Both the spring onion and plain ones tasted great.

Curry was mildly spicy, neither too thick nor diluted with pieces of chicken thigh, potatoes and an egg inside. Tastes good when eaten with the crispy prata.

Overall a really filling meal for me since there was quite a bit of chicken meat. Would definitely return to eat here again πŸ‘.

It specialised in curry and prata puff. And the curry was as hot as its bright red colour suggested, delivering some kick-ass spiciness. In the pot enough to feed 2, there were thoroughly cooked potatoes and a large portion of chicken.
Besides the usual rice, their freshly baked prata puff was a satisfying pairing with the curry. Think roti prata but this was like a puffed up pastry, crispy and non-oily, great to soak up the thick and tasty curry.
From the curry, prata puff, presentation and stall name; Midas was a non-conventional stall amidst the other offering traditional local dishes, worth checking out.

You will be greet by a very friendly uncle recommending what to eat. Famous for his crispy roti prata and curry, I enjoy their curry a lot. It was so tasty and creamy, with delicious chicken patties and potatoes. $5.50

Rushed Photo. The Butter Chicken is so unique and has yes like Mr Choa said, its on the salty so it goes really well with rice. One of the best places i've been for butter chicken.

Not sure πŸ€” why but the corn beef seem to have a slight sourish taste.
The dish did not really go well with the accompanied curry.

Definitely not your usual roti prata, Midas' prata is baked and comes in a more pastry-like form that Is less oily.

I ordered the chicken curry with plain and spring onion pratas at $7.50. This definitely was on the higher end given the small portions. The curry was thick (as I favored) but lacked aroma. I also didn't like that their ingredients (chicken thigh, potato and egg) weren't cooked with the curry; they will pour the curry gravy over the ingredients after you order. The prata, on the other hand, was not too bad and offered a familiar taste with a different texture from the traditional ones. And though the curry was not my favorite, it went surprisingly well with the curry.

Verdict? Try if you must but suggest to go with the plain prata first that comes with complimentary curry (should be).

From MIDAS, one of the newer hawker stalls in this quaint, quiet HDB estate that is rather unknown/forgotten by Singaporeans located in the heart of town two bus stops away from Outram Park MRT Station (by bus 174) and situated opposite Robertson Quay. MIDAS serves baked Prata, a twist to the Roti Prata we are all familiar with an even have interesting variants such as the Golden Pocket Muratabak Puff variants (which are said to his version of Muratabak) and a Golden Yolkey Prata (their Baked Prata with Salted Egg Yolk Masala sauce drizzled atop). Set B sees a bundle of two of their Baked Pratas (you can mix both flavour variants like how I did here; Plain and Spring Onion β€” you can also opt for just two portions of one type of Prata or opt for Basmatic Rice) and their Master Touch Chicken Curry. The plain Baked Prata replicated a crispy puff pastry with many hidden but light and crisp layers within; it's fragrant but surprisingly not too oily as well. Spring Onion appeared to be more naan-like; slightly more buttery in flavour but still not too greasy; flavour-wise you get that almost identical veggie flavour you get in vegetable crackers but less all that oiliness. The Master Touch Curry is seemingly generous in portion; a small drumstick, two potato chunks and an egg; the chicken was tender and came off from the bone easily and the potatoes were cooked till soft and easy to chew. The curry was thick and rich, but more of the Chinese sort than the Indian type; less emphasis on the flavours of spice and more spicy β€” around slightly higher than moderate for me. Works great as a dip for the baked Prata, and the flavours do remind me of the weekly visit to my grandma's where my aunt and mum would never fail to cook curry for dinner. Worth a try if you are very curious on how Baked Prata would turn out to be; probably the only stall around that serves Prata this way for now.
