Interesting fact: Crave was born of the collab between Kiosks Collective & "Selera Rasa". If you are a fan of Nasi Lemak, it's well known that Selera Rasa's Nasi Lemak original stall in Adam Road is one of the π5 places to have Nasi Lemak. π€©π

Starting from the Basmati rice to the crispy selar fish, this whole ensemble doesn't disappoint me. Initially I think a spoonful of sambal won't be enough but I finish rice even before I finish sambal. It's fiery hot & sweet..π€€ Think they could perhaps do fried egg better (not so overcooked) and more crispy ikan billis, peanuts & cucumber. They have handled it well tastewise for this outlet compared to original stall. π
Apart from the chicken wing which was still crispy despite takeaway and the choice of using basmati rice, there's nothing to shout about. The chilli was also too sweet.
Fragrant coconut rice, fried chicken wing, fried selar fish, fried egg, anchovies and peanuts and the most important component...sambal chilli sauce! My fried egg was still runny in the middle and the chicken wing was still crispy even though it was cold by the time it reached home. Simple, yummy dinner but the rice portion is quite little. I donβt have a big appetite but the portion was just right for me after the addition of the fish.
Nasi Lemak Chicken Wing Set ($5.90)
β
Fried chicken wing is crispy
β
Anchovies, peanuts and fried egg are done well
β
Generous with their chilli, which goes well with the ingredients and rice
β Rice is not fragrant enough
Because they use long grain basmati rice, it's not too heavy but still very flavourful.
Looks like I don't need to go all the way down to Adam Road Food Centre to have delicious Nasi Lemak.
With CRAVE open at the basement of Junction 8, getting takeaway packets of Nasi Lemak is not a bad choice. What I really liked about this packet of Full House (S$5.90) is actually their fried chicken wing: crispy and crunchy! And their Basmati Rice is said to produce lower blood sugar levels than that of brown rice.
(Note: Bergedil (S$1.20) sold separately, and for an additional dollar you can get their Royal Rumble Set (S$6.90) that also comes with Bergedil and Ikan Kuning.)
