We always order their signature dish "Grandma Glutinous Rice" every time we visit HarriAnn. First experience at Bugis outlet, it tastes super. We recently tried this takeaway one in their Suntec outlet. While the glutinous rice 🍚 is cooked to perfection, we are not quite a big fan of the sweet glutinous rice version sitting at the other end of the box. Maybe we are savoury type but the 'sweet version' Is not our thing (too sweet for our likes).
Peanuts, shallots and sambal chilli are still power! 💯💥 but can we skip the sweet V. (No need for 2-in-1 mix) and just have the whole box filled with natural (salty) taste from original glutinous rice. ✌️ #HarriAnns #Nonya #KugelKaffee
As a fan of glutinous rice, this might cost twice of general one but well worth it. It is slightly sweet so pairing it with chilli fried shallot keep this a balanced diet 😏✌️

✅️ Glutinous rice ✅️ grated 🥥 ✅️gula melaka syrup which I love when it is slightly chilled. Weekend is coming!! 👐
A famous nasi lemak stall in Adam Road food center est.since 1998. The stall is 1 in top 100 most nominated hawker of SG mint gift your favourite hawker a coin initiative. Enough accolade, let's dive into their nasi lemak. 😉 i just love the fact that they are generous with chilli, the anchovies are crispy and the coconut rice is just on point. The highlight of this set is a plump and smooth otah. The stall owner is very friendly and suggest me going to royal flush set instead. However, I skip chicken strips and opt for this set instead. 🤩
Normally Bengawan Solo is well known for its dessert, it's quite intriquing to find that they also have Nasi Lemak up for sale. Selling at $2.50 per packet, we think It is the most affordable Nasil Lemak in SG. We always love a good nasi lemak whether it is from the premium restaurants or the highstreet hawker stalls. The 3 components we saw in this banana leaf-wrapped style are the essentials: peanuts & anchovies, chilli and fried kuhning fish. 🥜🌶🐟 Bengawan Solo has done a great job with its sweet & spicy chilli & its crispy anchovi. Rice has good texture although not yet achieving the ideal coconut rice. Crispy anchovies and peanuts are crunchy & bountiful. The fried fish might not be crispy but you got crispy anchovies tagging along. These 3 masketeer ingredients will bring us back to be a regular here.
🐲 Having this Hokkien version side by side with Nyonya rice dumpling, I must admit that I prefer the flavor of this Hokkien one. The rice part is darker and there is a salted egg. Salted egg is always a must-have (be it a rice dumpling or a mooncake)🤩 it's a soul of a party!! 🕺💃 chestnut, mushroom and braised pork belly are all mixed in the fillings. We just can't wait to try the Teochew version.🤞🍀 * Tips * if you buy the takeaway version like us, don't steam too long as the rice part could turn soggy. Check how the dumpling looks inside the leaf and remove the rope before steaming (red rope for nyonya, blue rope for hokkien)

🐉 The #1 rice dumpling has opened their pop up at B4 Takashimaya for the Dragon Boat Festival (until 22 June). We heard about this brand for some time and it didn't take us long to decide if we should grab one. The original store is on Joo Chiat Road but we heard from the shopkeeper they are no longer in the East. Gonna do that fact check later! It's dumpling time!! this mini nyonya rice dumpling comes in good size as we want to try their variety. 😇
.
The quantity of fillings VS. rice dumpling are in good proportion. It contains minced pork belly (seasoned well with spice blend) and winter melon. Since we actually like our rice grainy (tough ❤️🔥 we know), the rice dumpling can come across as a bit too soft. Yet it would be just nice for those looking to have an easy bite.😚
A decent size for Thosai eaters who might not want to go all in with the breakfast sets. Hope y'all enjoy your Fri with these tempting breakfast choices.

1 in 8 of their all-time hit breakfast sets: we used to have this set back in 2018. With mere $0.10 price increase post pandemic, their quality & service are the same.👍 We got 3 grandma Thosai, 1 Vadai, with chai tea.
.
2 main reasons to support Ananda Bhavan: first, they are approaching 'centenary anniversary' in 2024. (Such a heritage eat)! Second, how many places serve delish food at affordable and reasonable price? Post pandemic most places charge so much more but not this place👌
Kudos to them! 🙏
Interesting fact: Crave was born of the collab between Kiosks Collective & "Selera Rasa". If you are a fan of Nasi Lemak, it's well known that Selera Rasa's Nasi Lemak original stall in Adam Road is one of the 🔝5 places to have Nasi Lemak. 🤩👍

Starting from the Basmati rice to the crispy selar fish, this whole ensemble doesn't disappoint me. Initially I think a spoonful of sambal won't be enough but I finish rice even before I finish sambal. It's fiery hot & sweet..🤤 Think they could perhaps do fried egg better (not so overcooked) and more crispy ikan billis, peanuts & cucumber. They have handled it well tastewise for this outlet compared to original stall. 👌
We noticed a snake queue at this food stall (Food Opera Ion orchard) Friday lunch. 🐍 We suspect that it might be so tasty that people are willing to queue so we come at early lunch (11 am) Wednesday for a takeaway.
We tried their mee pok fishball noodle and it’s so delish! Mee pok is proportionately coated with the chili sauce and lard. The 6 yellowtail fishballs are so bouncy. We can’t say this is a hidden gem but we learn that they have been around since ‘60s and used to be in Toa Payoh.
We are quite curious for their fish dumpling and fish cake. Hope to try them next time!! 🤩
As luck would have it, we found “Jian Bo Tiong Bahru Shui Kueh” while we wait for our dinner in another restaurant in Toa Payoh food allay. Their Shui Kuehs are still warm after 30 mins commuting time (Counting from when we got our takeaway until we reach home). We just love their smooth rice cake topped with crunchy preserved radish. The chilli might not be as much as in their original Tiong Bahru outlet but it tastes super power! 🌶 🔥 😍
