More Reviews of good food at Crabmeat Wonton Mee

$4 for the normal portion, addition $1 for the roasted pork belly. Worth trying but they only added 4 pieces of meat 😭

Huge portion. Every item is nice. Value for money.

Today I'm not so wowed. Char siew and roast meat seem to have been halved and the sauce isn't as tasty. They've also brought back shredded crabmeat, but it's cooked too dry.

Good bowl of Wonton Mee. For $4 it is worth it. For $1 more you can add crispy pork belly.

Crispy Wontons with a good watery crunch from the water chestnuts, but if crab meat were used it did not add to the flavour. Nice coating of Malaysian style black sauce that isn't overly strong. Pork belly is saltier than others, but had a good crispy skin and light char taste.

Average Char Siew. Crab meat sprinkles and vegetables not worth mentioning.

Located in MacPherson road. The fried wonton is juicy and extra add-on the roasted pork.

Always tried to visit this stall at Macpherson road, at finally on a Saturday it was open! Brought my brother along and he mentioned that the soup they provided had a strong peppery taste and it tasted like Bak Kit Teh somehow! Chili and the wontons were really good and sure to eat it again if I drop by!

The egg noodles were cooked to a delightful QQ texture and were evenly coated in their special sauce.

Made a trip to MacPherson last week wanting to try Kin Kin Chilli Pan Mee, only to find out the eatery was still closed for repair work. #sadded #whyyounosay

Our search for an alternative dinner place landed us at Crab Meat Wanton Mee, few shop spaces away from Kin Kin. Oh my, it was one delicious plate that got us raving over it. The noodle was very springy and you can find water chestnut in their homemade wantons. The sauce that bind all the “liao” together was licking good. Crabmeat and charsiew were sadly quite forgettable. But overall, this is one good plate of wanton mee that I love to recommend to all you Ubians!

This stall at MacPherson features plump crabmeat wonton, also with waterchestnut, in both soup and deep fried versions.

The wanton are definitely the highlight, esp the crisp ones with that light crunch.
Think what could be improved is the sauce, somehow lacking of that touch to elevate to another level.
Still a good plate. #dfdnoodles #dfdhawker

The one and only seafood wanton mee stall in Singapore, the wantons here are filled with crabmeat along with the usual minced pork! 🦀 Each servings comes with charsiew slice, bok choy, shredded crabmeat, deep fried wanton strips and crabmeat wanton on a bed of egg noodles. Along with a small bowl of soup with steamed crabmeat wantons, the egg noodle are tossed in a flavourful , well braised sauce that had a springy, QQ texture that was firm and pleasant to the bite. The char siew slices were tender and well marinated but could have done with less amount of fats and more meat instead. Nevertheless, the highlight here was still the crabmeat wantons- after all, that's what they are famous for. The deep fried version executed an ideal crisp exterior with fresh, juicy fillings. Just like the deep fried version, the steamed wantons were plump and juicy, with tiny cubes of water chestnuts within adding a pleasant crunch factor to its soft, flimsy skin. If u still can't enough of the crabs, there's even some shredded crabmeat slices (real leggit crabmeat) atop the noodles. Optional sambal chilli was provided at the side for that extra spice which was a great enhancement with its shiok, lingering spiciness that I even requested for more! The only gripe was the location that's pretty inaccessible unless you are staying in the vicinity. .

So glad these guys have reopened, and they are located at the same coffeeshop that they used to be at along MacPherson Road. Certainly quite a good plate of wanton mee where the wanton plays an integral role here. Tossed in black sauce, the Wanton Mee here comes pretty savoury with a light hint of piquant spiciness that runs subtly behind the scenes if one opts for chili. The noodles absorbed the flavours of the sauce well; a little softer than my ideal level of springiness but I personally don't find it an issue overall. Both fried dumplings and soup dumplings were stellar — well-packed with a soft bite unlike the usual, slightly firmer wantons we get elsewhere; the crabmeat seems to be in more for the ideal texture than for taste. The fried wantons were delightfully crisp without being too greasy while the soup ones were pretty slurpy. Thought the Char Siew is a tad generic, but I doubt it matters given the focus here are on the wantons and not on meats. Certainly not a wasted trip to MacPherson; it's been long since my last (and first) time!

So...... I need to make the trip down to try it! Try it over the weekend and it just feels so so, like a regular wanton mee. I actually feels quite sad after tasting it as I had put too much hope in it! One of those saying, the more hope u put, the more disappointed.. It didn't tasted the way I wish it was be... I did feel the water chestnut in the wanton but not the crab meat.. Noodles is in black sauce noodles texture is bouncy.. Overall just a regular wanton mee, so I won't go back again. #throwback #crabmeatwantonmee

Gave this stall at macpherson a try after seeing it being recommended by ieatishootipost. Ordered the large noodles as well as fried wantons. Noodles were springy and the sauce was appetizing, and tasted almost like Pontian noodles. However, I could hardly taste the crab flavor in the wantons (both the fried and steamed) and I felt that both the noodles and wantons were a tad too oily. Taste wise it is good & is worth a try!

For $4, you can get 2 fried and 2 soup crabmeat wonton with old school Malaysia black sauce noodle and generous serving of char siew! The wonton is stuffed with loads of pork, bits of crab mean and cubes of crunchy chestnut bits! Worth trying! Xoxo, wet tissue no have

First, one and only wanton Mee in Singapore that using crab meat as their wantons. Crispy and juicy wantons. $4 for small and $5 for big portion.

Been a while since this was under my radar ever since I saw it on Facebook, but only got reminded about it seeing Dr Leslie Tay posting an article about it on his blog. A pretty saucey plate of wanton mee, the sauce here is somewhat different from most places, somehow looking and tasting more towards the Pontian stalls being little heavier on savoury flavour with streaks of shredded meat within. Noodles were good if you don't nitpick on them; al-dente and pretty springy, while the wantons are pretty well-packed with a good amount of meat with subtle crustacean flavour. Both the fried and soup ones were delightful, for both had pretty fine meat fillings without inconsistent, lumpy parts around, and the fried ones were lightly crisp. Glad to have swopped my options around for lunch today!

2.5 mths old. Everyone loves the freshly fried light & crispy wantons. Comes with a good waterchestnut crunch.Above average black sauce with a good Chilli kick.

Wanton were big n filling. Nice and worth e try

Because first, they're relatives of the original owner, not the OG making a comeback. As a result, I was very disappointed there was no shredded crabmeat in my noodle. They explained it's in the wantons, but I couldn't taste any. However, looking past that, this was possibly the best wanton mee I've eaten, better than the OG. Noodles were wet and flavourful, meats were serious enough to rival roast stalls and you actually care about the vegetables. Imagine how conflicted I was.

🦀 ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ This plate comes with al dente noodles with char siew and roast pork . There’s 2 pieces of fried wonton and boiled ones. Crab meat portion is pathetic and doesn’t make a difference though. You can instead expect a good plate of noodles with plump wonton. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
