Glad to be there at the Chengdu Bowl X Hue Restaurant pop up event!
Featuring their Spice Bowl that consist of White Rice, Onsen Egg, 3 Sichuan Sides, 3 Thai sides and 2 proteins (Mala Pork Belly & Thai Spicy Chicken). Also had their Minced Garlic Brocolli and Peach Oolong Cold Brew Tea from METIME TEA.
Long story short, I was belly satisfied! The marriage of flavours definitely caught me by surprise…😉
Thanks Burpple for the kind invite! Can’t wait to be back to try other Chengdu Bowls (2 for the price of 1) with Burpple Beyond.
The beef with oyster mushroom is much more flavourful and easier to eat as compared to the braised pork belly.
Burrple 1for1 on all their large rice bowls.
The braised pork belly looks really good. Taste wise, it was ok, the meat a little dry thou. I think this can be Improved.
Value for money if u using the burrple 1for1 for it.
Large bowl @$14.90
Tried this at the pop up collaboration event (held at Hue Restaurant). We had the mala chicken + thai spicy chicken with broccoli, mushrooms, corn, spicy potatoes and onsen egg. Food here comes in a generous portion!
I prefer the pork over the chicken rice bowls. We also ordered the spicy braised quail eggs and eggplants with green chilli. Wished that the rice bowl was served warmer, and hopefully this is the case for the rest of the evening/at their main outlet (we attended the first slot of the pop up event so perhaps there was still some teething issues). Wouldn't mind revisiting to try the classic sour fish option that is available with burpple 1-for-1 promotion ✨
Visited during the Chengdu Bowl x Hue Restaurant pop up event. Lately I've been on a streak of ugly onsen eggs and this did not escape the fate 🤣
Jokes aside, the bowl is split into 2 halfs. On the left, there is the sichuan mala pork belly + 3 sichuan sides (including spicy potato slices). On the right, the thai spicy pork belly is complemented with thai sides. Pork belly is tender and fatty. Overall, a very hearty rice bowl that would easily feed 2 small eaters.
Available on burpple for 1-for-1 deals 💸
I can't appreciate tea but I don't understand why only the bottom is sweet, and we weren't told to stir or even given stirrers.
Thanks @burpple for the invite and HUE for hosting!
