From a zichar stall along Hup Hup's row. It's swimming in the broth and every component was fine. I appreciate the large fish slices.
While most people prefer another yong tau foo stall at this food centre with long queue, thereโs also this stall that sell the same thing as well.
Jia Jia Yong Tau Foo is also serving decent yong tau foo with lots of items to choose from. Fried items are separated if you choose the soup version.
The soup is tasty and I โupgradeโ my meal with a bowl of Zhajiangmian.
($4.50) it's a long time never eat lor mee for a while. but the soup broth still got that warm. But the ingredients still give plenty only.
You could easily spot this stall named the 99 Fried Hokkien Mee, that also serve other dish like fried carrot cake as well.
A plate of fried Hokkien mee full with wok hey and delicious. Comes with few pieces of prawn. Squeeze the lime and mix everything with the chilli paste.
The springy noodles and savoury sauce were good too, but the wantons were the surprise stars. Though small, they were filled with minced pork and crunchy prawns. Most wanton mee stalls donโt put prawns in their wantons, so I was impressed. The char siew may not be perfect (though still quite good), but the wantons are worth a visit!

There are quite a number of Charcoal Black Char Siew outlets across Singapore. Iโm not sure if their standards are consistent, but the one at AMK Central is pretty decent. It specialises in charcoal-grilled char siew, so I had to get the ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐ฆ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ ๐ช๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ผ๐ป ๐ก๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ๐น๐ฒ ($4.50) with extra char siew (+ $2).
The char siew was decently grilled, with a perfect lean meat to fat ratio. However it was too sweet for my liking.

One of the stalls here that also getting long queue during lunch time, Sin Choon attracts people for their kway chap and duck rice.
Tender braised duck meat paired with braised rice. Grab the combo to get the egg and beancurd.
Their duck rice also comes with a bowl of herbal soup.
If youโre the type that likes wet Hokkien mee, this might be the plate for you! Taste was not too salty and I loved how the seafood zhap, chilli and lime all blended nicely together. Slurped my plate down in less than 5 mins! Iโll definitely order a bigger portion next time
PRICE: $3.50
WAITING TIME: There's always a queue during lunchtime. But we went late at 2pm on a weekday so it was only a 5-min waiting time.
REMARKS:
- WOK HEI GAO GAO
- The wok hei was no joke. Which also meant I was very busy picking out the many many bits of char away.
- Moist and super flavourful
- Comes with pork lard, chinese sausage, fishcake
- We opted for no bean sprouts and no cockles
WILL WE RETURN? Have been eating this quite a number of times!
With the addition of beef tripe, the first spoonful of the mee soto seems slightly underwhelming but you mix in the chilli and black sauce, it transformed the noodle dish entirely and the flavours were elevated with the spiciness and umami-ness from the condiments. The broth had the spiced kick, making it very slurp-worthy. However, what truly stands out is their charcoal grilled meat-on-stick aka satay as not only do you get the nice charred bitterness and the turmeric marination, the accompanying chunky peanut sauce is the perfect complement to the satay.

Fried Hokkien Mee ($4)
Loved the wokhei and prawn broth taste. Had 3 prawns which were fresh, squid, pork slices etc. 5 mins wait. Chilli was fantastic as well. Spicy and went well with the noodles. Great meal!
Char kway teow ($3.50)
Comes moist and slight sweet from dark sauce. Many crispy pork lard pieces Inside. Tastes good with the cockles fish cake and lupcheong.
With such a bold name, I decided to give this stall a go. Apart from the evident lack of any wok hei flavour, the meal was of decent standard, price and quantity.
