($4.20) it's my favourite canned food (peach) when I was younger but I don't like to eat real peach tbh lol. But I just felt that grass jelly was getting too little compared to peach lol π. But it's quite refreshing and also sweet aftertaste.
Ah Chew Dessert used to be my favourite Chinese Dessert Stall in Singapore.
Visited recently, and somehow, the desserts don't satisfy me anymore..
We got the following items:
-Hot Yam Paste ($3.50)
-Black Glutinuous Rice with Mixed Tang Yuan ($3.30 + $1.50)
Firstly, the portion sizes seems to have reduced for the yam paste. Secondly, the gingko nuts is chopped and blended all around in the yam paste, which is not to my preference, since I love yam paste that is pure, without gingko! So my satisfaction of the bowl was greatly reduced.
And since I love to order warm orh nee yam paste at Chinese dessert stalls, guess I will be patronising other stalls in future when looking for dessert places!
Visit to bugis is never complete without heading to Ah Chew for Desserts!
Got the Mango Sago with Pomelo ($5.20) and Grass Jelly with Lychee ($3.80). I am always craving for their grass jelly desserts when I am here somehow! Note to self NOT to get the bowl with pomelo next time, and just get the mango sago ($4.40) as the pomelo bites majority of the time made my dessert bowl more bitter!
Comes with honey. It's pretty decent, quite bouncy. Has more bite than the normal packaged soft ones
The Custard was smooth and quite impressive, even though the taste is mild. The Cookies definitely added texture and sweetness, which worked v well tgt
Pretty good
The Sago hardly matters, the durian mousse is more a creamy kind than an intensely durian kind, which was fine and delicious as well. Durian puree was legit as always
Famed for their fresh Asian desserts since September 2003, this stall is usually packed with crowds throughout the day, though turnover is quick.
.
Their rendition has lovely wobbly soft smooth egg custard pudding, and rich juicy ginger broth, warm and comforting.
.
Carries lovely bright pleasant eggy sweet spice herbal flavour, so addictive.

Ordered this yam sago ($4.80) and the yam was delicious and I like the milk sweet soup. Really nice and delicious traditional dessert
My number 1 favourite dessert spot whenever im in bugis is at ah chew desserts! Head there earlier before everyone finishes dinner to have a shorter queue! My typical orders are usually an iced dessert and a cold egg pudding! π
Pretty decent bowl of creamy durian sago although they didnβt use premium durian. Iβve had it multiple times over the years and it has gotten sweeter. Maybe too sweet. 7/10
Order the yam paste ($3.30) & yam sago ($3.80)
Yam sago was good with the generous amount of yam in it.
Yam Paste my friend was fine with it. However, I feel that it was too watery.
Straying away from the usual hot desserts I get here, I picked the ππππππππππ ππππ ($π.ππ)π this time! Though refreshing, I found it too sweet for my liking :β)
Cookies & cream haha. Quite weird right? Anyway this was disappointing. The amount of ice is just a bad experience.
First time trying steamed egg as a dessert and we were thinking whether it would taste like chawanmushi or this cai png steamed egg π€£. We found that it tasted like the egg tart filling but slightly milkier and less sweet. We thought that it was pretty light and the red bean topping overpowered everything, so we would get it without any toppings if we were to get this another time.
Even though it was a Monday night, there's still a queue for Ah Chew and dining time is only limited to a mere 20mins. Desserts were served pretty fast though, <5mins after ordering!
ζ¨ζηι² is one of our go-to desserts at any Chinese dessert stall! The version at Ah Chew strikes a right balance between the sweetness of the mango and the sourness of the pomelo. The dessert also isn't overly sweet and this makes it really drinkable. However, it would be great if Ah Chew didnt add so many ice cubes to the dessert because it can get quite annoying to accidentally bite on the ice. Great dessert nonetheless for $4.80, although you need to pay an additional $1 to add an ice cream!
Note that Ah Chew has a strict dine-in time limit of 20 minutes at night and their staff will not hesitate to chase you off once you have finished your dessert.
Reowned for their wide range of traditional desserts, this stall has been delighting customers for nearly 2 decades.
.
Perpetually packed with a younger crowd and families (rare to see any elderly), they serve a reliable and consistent rendition of ah balling.
.
The glutinous rice balls are soft, sticky, and chewy, in pink or white hues to indicate the type of filling within.
.
The black sesame paste has a bold earthy sweet nutty taste with a gritty thick feel, while the peanut paste has a nutty sweet flavour with grainy chunky texture.
.
Especially love the warm ginger soup on cold rainy days, so shiok.

We're orh nee lovers but this is a miss for us. The yam paste ($3.40) was too watery and just didn't have that creaminess to it. Glad that we added rice balls (+$1.30) if not it would have been too disappointing.
