Satisfying bagels w great texture and substantial fillings! I love the maple mayo in the BEC, balances out the saltiness of the bacon(or ham). Love the melty cheddar and monterey jack as well.

I can safely say, this is one of the best seafood mee sua ($5) I've had. The sauce is thick and incredibly smoky, and so darn flavourful from the seafood stock that is used to make the dish. The noodles were also nicely springy, and the portion was pretty generous. They gave quite a few clams and a prawn and they were all very fresh!

super worth it peranakan home cooked food!!
the Nyonya chap chye is a MUST TRY!!
lady fingers super awesome too
beef rendang and blue pea, everything is perfect! LOVE IT.
it's manned by 2 sisters (aged 50+ probably?) who cooked all these themselves! they grind the chili and curry paste from scratch! effort.
super home cooked

After burpple 50% off, the set meal is probably $4+ max including 2 desserts (either green bean or pulut hitam and jelly)

Comes w two prawns so we added another

Seafood paella was q flavourful, though it didn't taste full of seafood umami(all will be revealed in the next post). Barely any crust but that's fine. Carabinero was decent for what it was but it wasn't top tier as the prawn head was q yucky. Just eat the meat

My favourite dish here! Shredded crispy fried chicken mixed with homemade sambal, portion was good.

Choose from a whopping spice level of 1 to 12 - we had level 3 and it was already pretty spicy (by my standards 😂), but it was a good, addictive kind of heat that keeps you going back for more mouthfuls! Absolutely loved the sambal (which they probably should sell on the side cos I can imagine pairing this with rice would make any meals fantastic).

Would be even better if the rice here was the same blue pea coconut rice as the Nasi Lemak 😛

Being tucked away on the second level of a shophouse, Nirvana Dessert Cafe is a spot that one could easily miss considering how it’s not quite visible on the first level — the entrance being just a flight of steps behind a door that is situated in between Machi Machi and Milk Singapore along Arab Street.

Being a concept behind the same folks of now-defunct Q&Y Kong Style Dessert Cafe previously at The Midtown in Hougang, Nirvana Dessert Cafe is pretty much a spiritual successor to Q&Y Kong Style Dessert Cafe, serving their signature soufflé pancakes as well as waffles, amongst some other dessert items that are prepared in their tiny kitchen in the shophouse. Their soufflé pancakes are one of the more affordable ones around — priced at $9, their soufflé pancakes are pretty affordable and comes at a decent quality for its price; sufficiently moist, the soufflé pancakes were fluffy and airy with a slight hint of eggy sweetness that was pretty fragrant. Coupled with the dollop of pastry cream on the side, the pastry cream helps to add yet another dimension of sweetness to the pancakes. Patrons can opt between chocolate, maple syrup and salted caramel sauce for their soufflé pancakes; our order came with the salted caramel sauce which we did not end up using though — the sauce being a tad heavy and felt rather off against the texture and flavours of the soufflé pancake, and easily became the dominating flavour of the dessert.

Given how Kampong Glam is filled with cafes that caters to different crowds, Nirvana Dessert Cafe is a spot that carries a different appeal — the hidden nature of the cafe being situated at the second level of the shophouse somewhat makes it a secret hangout of sorts only for those in the know. Prices are also pretty affordable, while the quality of the desserts here do resonate the prices pretty well — yet another option for dessert while in the area.

Mention Goldhill Plaza and you might not immediately think of good food, but this restobar might just change your mind! With the mantra of "Eat Like A Boss", you'll find generous servings of western dishes ranging from the Classic Beef Burger ($11.90), Salmon Teriyaki Burger ($10.90) and Crispy Chicken Burger ($9.90), which is served with their homemade signature "Special Sauce". Hmm, we wonder what that is?

First of all the atmosphere is really nice. Even down to the russian music that was playing. For food i had the Zharkoe which was a stew of potatoes, veggies and pork, as well as a kompot - a traditional russian homemade fruit punch. The kompot was really delicious in its own way and wasnt sweet, i was delighted to try it. The stew was tasty and complex in flavours because of the mix of ingredients used, overall it worked well as a tasty stew that i finished every drop of.

Came here for lunch on New Year's Day after reading excellent reviews. We were not disappointed in the slightest - the Carne Rossa pizza arrived piping hot and topped with an array of fresh ingredients including home-pickled chilli and onions. The pizza crust was unlike anything we've ever had before - incredible wood-oven flavor, chewy but not tough, with a texture reminiscent of sourdough. We also ordered a squid ink spaghetti which was cooked perfectly, with fresh clams to boot. Even though it was cold and rainy outside, the food and lovely ambience warmed our hearts and souls. As if that wasn't enough, the manager was super attentive and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended😊👍
