Wanted to try their pork ribs, but they didn't have it that day 😒 We had the Laksa Lobster Linguine ($27 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) and we loved the rich coconut flavours and how al dente the Linguine was. The Lobster itself was fresh and succulent. The Nyonya Herb Crusted Snapper ($25 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) was fresh and meaty, and the sambal given is really good! However, we both agreed that the portion size is really small. Really too expensive to pay the original price!

The claypot ee-mian has the soul-comforting factor that is perfect when the weather gets cooling while the chicken rice is nothing out of the world but a decent meal option around the area.

Thai Tea Crepe Cake - The thin, handmade layers of Thai milk tea-infused crepes saw fresh cream sandwiched between, and was served with a side of Thai milk tea sauce for that extra boost in flavour.Β

Shared 5 dishes between a group of 5 friends (used 2 Burpple 1 for 1 deals). Do note that there's a separate 1 for 1 menu, and that the portions are pretty big and meant for sharing! Had the:
- Ground Pot Chicken - very flavourful, liked the different textures of the ingredients, the bread(?) was also great when scooping up the sauce, but do note there's significant bones
- Hot Plate Tiger Prawns in Garlic Oil - THIS WAS AMAZING ESP THE GARLIC SAUCE PLEASE ORDER IT
- Shredded Cabbage with Pork & King Oyster Mushroom - these 2 doshe were my free dishes, overall nothing too special and both were essentially cooked the same way
- Deep Fried Chicken with Chillies (additional order on top of the Burpple orders above) - this was good! nice crunch of the chicken with a strong aroma of spices, and the accompanying chillies, green onions and ginger elevated it further.

Had a hearty meal here, overall spending as $94 for 5 of us (had 5 pax Tea, a coke, and 3 bowls of rice as well).

This Earl grey gin was fantastic! Using their signature Singapore Dry Gin, infused with Earl grey tea - fragrant, incredibly refreshing and so easy to drink. A pity they don’t sell it bottled, would’ve love to bring one home if they did.

The restaurant that recently I went try is Ah Yat kitchen.
I only tried a few items due to limited space of my tummy πŸ˜†.
The dish that I will highly recommend is Crispy Cheong Fun with Shrimp.
smooth skin roll wrapped the crisps plump shrimp, topped with ebiko and with light soya sauce as a dipping.

B.E.C. ($12)
This sandwich comes with Homemade Thick Bacon, and YES, an extremely thick layer Scrambled Egg - just look at it?!!?!!
Actually my first time having such a thick slab of bacon, and I'm totally not complaining. It gives you the full flavour, and goes pretty well with the scrambled. Only qualm was we felt that the toast for this sandwich to be slightly dry, but we've also found that it differs with every sandwich, which means every buttered toast isn't consistent.

Enjoyed this breakfast! Eggs were perfect with the hollandaise sauce, smoked salmon and fluffy brioche. Wouldn't mind if there were even more sauce though. Really worth with burrple beyond!

Champion Polo Bun had been quite the hype on social media before the ban on dine-in was imposed during the Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) period β€” aside from the pretty interiors of the three-storey shophouse that it occupies, much has also been mentioned about their Bolo Buns as well.

Visiting their store during mid-day on a weekend afternoon, we were actually pretty lucky that there were still quite a number of empty seats around and that there was a lack of queue β€” the queue started to form up shortly after while we were collecting our order. That being said, the Mini Bolo Buns were already sold out for the day.

Between the two, the Classic Bolo Bun with Butter was a clear winner for me β€” possibly one of the best, if not the best Bolo Bun that I have had around the island. The bread beneath is fluffy β€” almost akin to a slightly firmer yet fluffier rendition of neighbourhood bakery buns, but the crispiness of the buttery crust on top is surprisingly fragrant and sufficiently sweetened; so crisp that one would be able to hear audible crunching sounds as one munches on it. It comes with a slab of salted butter β€” some may notice how its a bit thin compared to some other establishments, but I think it did complement the Bolo Bun adequately without overwhelming the fragrance of the bun. The Curry Bolo Bun comes almost the same in terms of texture, but comes well-filled with curry filling that contains small cubes of potatoes that were pretty soft. Enjoyed how piquant and spicy the curry gravy was; sufficiently coconut-y with a distinct fiery punch that provides a good kick to tingle the taste buds, but the purist in me still prefers the alluring fragrance of the Classic Bolo Bun instead.

A lot has been said about the Bolo Buns from Champion Bolo Bun, and I would say that I can only agree to the hype that I have heard thus far about it β€” possibly one of the best Bolo Buns around especially when it comes to that shattering-crisp buttery crust over the top; definitely worth trying at least once, but something which we will likely be going for again!

The price was reasonable, the ice cream and cookie crumbles really blend in well with the croissant. Definitely something I would come back for. The staff were very sweet and the place was absolutely cozy😍
