Slurp the cold noodles and have a slice of the Seafood Pancake. Slightly smaller than a 10ā€ pizza and unlike the traditional chives filled Korean pancakes, it is utterly crispy and not overly oily.

A refreshing bowl of Naengmyeon just hits the spot. This dish is quite popular during summer in Korea but isn’t commonly found in Singapore.

And Songane’s rendition of this popular summer dish in Korea is as close as the ones I had there. Mul-naengmyeon is made of slippery thin buckwheat noodles in vinegar-infused icy broth completed with meat slices, daikon, cucumber and hard-boiled egg.

Decked out in pastel pink, this hidden patisserie makes a great hangout place for girlfriends with interesting bakes like Goma Cheesecake, Speculoos Cheesecake & Pulut Hitam Cake.

The Pulut Hitam Cake goes surprisingly well with the hot Black Sesame Latte ($6.50). A local twist to the usual cake as the light chiffon cake is layered with black glutinous rice and coconut creme. Not overly sweet and when pair with Black Sesame Latte, it bring out the nutty fragrance too.

Only 100 bowls daily!

Enishi, hail from Kobe Japan, is a quaint 9-seater restaurant tucked away on the second level of International Plaza. Serving only 2 items: Dashi Ramen and Dan Dan Noodles.

A colourful bowl packed with flavours and texture, their Dan Dan Mee is one of the best in town. Made up of diced chashu, minced pork, white diced onions, fried onions, pickles, and mizuna, add in the soft boiled egg and mixed it well. Thick QQ noodles coated in sultry sauce, each painstakingly selected ingredient contributes to the greatness of the dish, and leave you wanting more.

P.S: ask for a small bowl of rice to ā€œsoakā€ up the remaining sauce.

There’s no black and no white, just shades of grey…

Rejoice for the coffee lovers with another new place for speciality coffee ā˜•ļø and for avid coffee drinkers at Alchemist, you’ll be glad to know the owners used to work there.

One of the owners, Luke roasts their coffee beans and offer a whole new taste profile that is clean yet nicely balanced. So chill and appreciate the cup of coffee while you partake in housemade bakes like Yuzu Pound Cake and Choc Chip Cookies.

99 gelato? Nope, but 16 is equally impressive. Flavours (from $6/scoop) range from classic Espresso and Tahitian Vanilla to a more refreshing Tomato Strawberry or get ā€œdrunkā€ on Ceylon Tea & Peach Liqueur.

Located in an old complex, it’s amazing how they transform the old dingy area into a spacious comfortable cafe completed with plush chairs and figurines.

Two exclusive gelatos ($8/scoop) will be their Dulcey Chocolate with Whiskey & Seasalt and Sorrel with Creme Fraiche & Yuzu Jelly. Creamy sweet dulcey chocolate comes with an additional shot of whiskey, while the light citrusy sorrel is balanced with yuzu jelly.

We had their 4-course Dinner Set Menu ($58/person) which Chef Darwin specially crafted for Nespresso SG Restaurant Week, happening from 4 Mar - 27 Mar 2022.

The starter was Smoked Maguro Crudo with ginger shallot dressing, wasabi cheese & petit salad before moving on to my favourite of the evening, Squid Ramen. A rendition of ramen, the ā€œnoodleā€ is made with squid and served in an umami dashi broth. Finished off with a panko-crusted ajitsuke tamago with bbq pull pork.

Main will be the Nespresso-infused dish, Kurobuta Crispy Pork Belly with dashi cauliflower, coffee rum glaze and charred kale. A nice balance of lean meat and fats, along with a cracking good skin.

As we end off the meal with a Chocolate tart topped with soya miso curd, served alongside Hokkaido milk gelato.

A strong craving for tom yum soup leads us to 87 Just Thai. A stone's throws away from Somerset MRT, this eatery serves authentic yet affordable Thai dishes like PFC aka Pandan Fried Chicken ($8) and Claypot Tang Hoon with Prawns ($14).

Unlike the other places, their version isn’t wrapped in pandan leaves but deep-fried till golden brown crust and has a satisfying crunch Dip it into the sweet chilli sauce and happily munch away!

Coated in a sweet umami sauce, the claypot tang hoon comes with medium-sized prawns. Generous portion with nice bite, it has a light peppery taste. Any recommendations on places which serves Claypot Tang Hoon?

Upside down or right side up?

Spot the cute cafe with a topsy-turvy entrance along East Coast Road. Focusing on Ipoh White Coffee with specially roasted beans from Ipoh, sip your coffee while taking photos at the gram-worthy walls.

Signature Cold Brew ($5) is my favourite. Thick yet smooth, it has 3 layers of taste - chocolaty, chestnut and finally a smoky fragrance. Other than this, they offer unique flavours ($7.50) like Matcha, Rose, Osmanthus and Banana to pair with their Nanyang Coffee.

P.S: currently under soft launch and the official opening will be on 1 March 2022.
