Prided as the dish which made them famous the tom yam seafood pasta came highly recommended by the staff! The spaghetti was cooked to a good al dente and there was a generous amount of prawns, clams, topped with a glistening mussel! The tom yam sauce was aromatic, brimming with spicy and sour flavours. Balanced out by the cream, the pasta was not tooooo spicy, spice lovers can opt for additional chili. With elements of both asian and western cuisine, this fusion dish was executed surprisingly well. We can see how this is a crowd favourite.
This featured a huge fillet of dory fish encrusted in a thin crispy batter which sat atop a bed of fries and garden salad. The alscampi sauce was not as creamy as we expected but was chockful of seafood which added to its sweetness and texture. This was a filling dish!
These were good drinks to cleanse our palates in between bites, making sure the meal didnโt become too surfeiting from the rich flavours!

Did you know? 49 Seats is open until 2AM from Monday to Saturday, perfect if youโre looking for a supper spot in town!
The popcorn chicken was piping hot and fried to golden perfection, drizzledwith a luxurious and sinful salted egg sauce. However, do opt for the sauce to be served on the side, as ours became soggy and mushy rather quickly.
[INVITED TASTING] Had a wonderful feast at 49 seats recently, and I'm definitely coming back!
With a large seating area, 49 seats serve up western food with some Asian twists. Here are some of my favourites:
Fish and Chips with Tom Yum Sauce ($19.90): love the light crispy batter, with the meaty flaky fish within ๐ the tom yum sauce was not too spicy, and had the right amount of sweet and savoury flavours. Such a huge portion to enjoy as well!
Smoked Duck Aglio Olio ($17.90): not only the pasta was in a huge portion, they were generous with the smoked duck slices as well. Just a little spicy but very garlicky, the aglio olio was so addictive! So glad the pasta noodles were al dente and had a good mouth feel.
Salted Egg Popcorn Chicken ($11.90): when popcorn chicken is already an addictive dish, the savoury salted egg sauce added another dimension to the dish ๐ I just kept on eating and couldn't stop all the way till the end of the meal!
With quality food, generous portions and reasonable prices, this is one option to go for when you're in town! Thank you @eatwithkeat for the invite and @49seats for hosting us!
This Italian restaurant has been here for many years after their relocation and continued to serves their signature pasta and other dishes.
Their tom yum seafood pasta is one of the popular item and you would love the creamy but not too spicy kind of tom yum broth here.
Come during lunch time to enjoy the valuable lunch set that comes together with a soup and drink.
