Where else can u find peking duck for $6.90, somemore is not just the drumstick, but the entire leg and more.

The set even Includes rice/soft buns and a soft drink.

The concept of this shop is machiam Fast food style for roasted meat.

The duck was not bad, but don't expect imperial treasure here please. Its only $6.90 and it comes with a drink.

The duck skin was hit and miss, some parts were a little crisp, some just not crispy at all, like lao hong already. It still tastes not bad.

Value for $$

We were running some errands nearby when we passed by the back of a shop which had pictures of "peking duck" pasted all over and smelled absolutely heavenly in the rain. Needless to say, we had to pop in for some grub.

@yanchuanroaster is a fast food concept restaurant that gives me the Kenny Rogers vibes. It specialises in roast meats and in particular, "Peking Duck".

There is a reason why inverted commas are used. For the avoidance of doubt, you are not getting the shattering crisp skin a la Quanjude but its "cousin", a Cantonese style roast duck instead.

I was kinda disappointed but at $16 per duck (which is considered cheap even for a Cantonese style roast duck), I really ought to have known better 🤦‍♂️.

I did however enjoy their roast duck. The meat was tender and juicy and more importantly, well marinated. There was none of the gamey flavours which we associate with duck meat. Paired with the thick and sweet plum sauce, this was good with rice.

I am not usually a fan of duck meat but considering the price point ($16 for a whole large duck), it is certainly good value and satisfying!

P.S. anyone has a recommendation for peking duck which doesn't break the bank?

Known to be a roast meat specialist at their wholesale takeaway outlet in Ubi, Yan Chuan Roasters decided to venture out into Kitchener Complex near Lavender MRT Station, opening their first dine-in restaurant early last year. Offering affordable set meals that replicates that of fast food, you can select your choice of roast meat and pair it with either rice or mantou. Not to forget, each set meal comes with a drink too!

👉Roasted Peking Duck Set - SGD6.90

The only saving grace was the marination of the duck. No doubt it’s tasty but the skin was lacking that slight crisp and the meat was a tad too dry & tough for me. For those “allergic” to bones, please stay away from this 🤣.

Comfortable air conditioned roasted meats cafe at lavender mrt ( same building at Toast Box ) .

Almost feels like a fast food roasted meat concept .

Each set comes with a drink , rice or steamed buns and your choice of roasted meat .

I chose roasted duck plus 3 dollars of lean char siew .

The char siew was really really Outstanding - while the duck was average .

At 9.90 a set which can feed 2 - no complaints .

Worth a try :)
