This plate of roast chicken drumstick with glistening and appetising golden-brown skin is surprisingly tender and moist — and goes perfectly well with the tasty soya sauce dressing over the chicken! 🫶🏻

You should find many familiar stalls in Margaret Drive Food Centre as they are mostly moved here from the former Tanglin Halt Food Centre.
Tong Kee Chicken Rice is one of them and you could immediately see a long queue in front of this stall when you are here.
Previously they only sell roasted chicken rice and now at this new place, they have since selling white version as well.
I do love their roasted chicken rice, fragrant enough and the meat is soft.
This stall only has roast chicken. Luckily, although I'm a firm believer that chicken rice should be white, I came for their roast chicken. Unfortunately, the bird was quite disappointing. It's not unlike most roast chicken. Shout out to the rice though. Very fragrant.
It’s not your usual chicken rice, but the lor chap served with it really gives it a special twist. Has a ‘wok hay’ fragrance. Try this when you’re sick of your normal chicken rice, roasted chicken only. Add egg $0.50
I felt that for chicken rice ($3.00) (breast) was quite dry and not much taste. I saw most of people changed to chicken drumstick or wings instead + add-on char siew ($1.00) was marinated well with the sauce and having strong roasted taste.
Tong kee was previously stationed at commonwealth hawker centre along Margaret drive, which was just beside my secondary school.
The roasted chicken was juicy, left the juicy skin last.
