Have previously reviewed the curry chicken, chap chye, and otah so I won’t be going into details, but all 3 were very enjoyable as usual. The omelette was nice and pretty homely tasting, with crunchy prawns in it. It’s decently sized too so it’s a great dish for sharing. Note to self to try the sweet and sour fish & ytf next time!
Slightly crisp on the outside, rather tender and easy to eat. The sauce could be tangier as I like sour stuff, but this is a p decent pork chop. I’ll skip this if I’m coming in a group of 2-3 (would rather order other items), but in a bigger group this is worth ordering!
Located just 2 bus stops away from Botanic Gardens MRT station (Circle/ Downtown Line), Curry Wok is located in Coronation Arcade (next to Coronation Plaza).
Having seen this shops many times, this is actually my first time visiting it. If you are looking for tasty home cooked style food, this is the place to go!
Ordered the Homemade Ngoh Hiang, Chap Chye, Curry Chicken and Otak, which were all flavourful and palate friendly for those who has lower tolerance for spiciness! The Ngoh Hiang was really crispy and filled with ingredients and not too tough on the insides too. However, in my opinion, I would prefer my Otak with more fish meat and spice, for a good kick.
Friendly staffs and a cosy and clean environment. It’s definitely an afforable meal for the quality we are getting. Definitely going back again :)
Homely ambiance. Friendly staff
Ngoh hiang is very good, a must try.
And the chicken curry tasted good as well. Chicken is fresh.
What a satisfying meal! Have been patronising curry wok for ~10 years now, and it doesn’t disappoint. The chap chye is delicious, and it comes with a thin and light but flavourful zhup. The curry was well balanced and not too heavy, and the spiciness was tolerable. Potatoes were soft yet firm (not mashy). The otah was really good! Bouncy, and some parts had chunks of flaky fish.
Friends who know me know how I like interviewing the waitressing staff before ordering .
If its the orh nee I want - better give it to me homemade - otherwise no deal 🙅♀️.
This homemade orh mee is 100 percent yam with no fillers . Not too sweet and a portion is good to share amongst 2 .
Creamy and decadent .
Will be back for more ...
