I don't even eat Song Fa's bak kut teh hahaha but I heard good things about this. Indeed, it's surprisingly impressive. The kung pao flavour was on point, there's lots of meat and the garnish was my kind of food.

I don't even eat Song Fa's bak kut teh hahaha but I heard good things about this. Indeed, it's surprisingly impressive. Even the best kway chap is just kway chap but this had some elegance to it. The kway was thin and smooth, and the broth was fragrant. We also tried the "white" kway, which uses peppery broth and minced meat. It's inferior but acceptable. Among the ingredients, the pork belly was superb and the pig skin was the tenderest I've encountered.

[Punggol, Singapore 🇸🇬]

Kway Chap Set for One Pax (S$6.80)
Bean curd, egg, pork belly, bean curd puff, fish cake, large intestine
Served with Kway in soya sauce broth

Addon big intestine head (S$3.20)

Ordered at the self-service machines. Collection at the counter when order number was flashed on the screen. Help yourself to the chilli sauce and cutlery at the counter. Like that there’s no funky taste or smell in the intestines.

the broth is quite unlike other kway chaps i’ve had. the one here is thicker and more robust. kway is in bigger pieces too which i love. and one bowl of kway for $1??? honestly bang for your buck. i recommend getting the Kway Chap Set for 2 ($11.50) which includes 2 bowls of kway, braised large intestines, braised pork belly, beancurds & egg. tried the Braised Duck Rice Set ($7.60) and it was v fragrant too!! duck wasn’t gamey and was tender.

My expectation quite low, because song fa is more known for their bak kut teh, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The kway chap was flavourful and all the meat was soft and tender. The pork belly was the most outstanding.

I had the kway chap set for 2($11.50) and additional $5 for the braised duck meat.

We ordered Yam Rice with Duck $5.60, Kway Chap Set for 2 at $11.50 and pig trotter $8. Duck meat and pig trotter were flavourful and tender with the yam rice quite fragrant. The offal does not have any pungent taste either while the Tau Kwa soaked in braised sauce adds to one's palate. Overall was a pleasant experience.
