I had explicitly travelled down all the way for dinner, with the understanding as per the application that either the 1-1 Donburi or 30% off total bill could be used. 1-1 states in the terms and conditions βnot applicable for lunch dealβ, which I acknowledge. I was there during dinner time and I was not going to opt for a lunch deal. Prior to ordering, I checked with the waiter whether I could use the 30% or 1-1 donburi deal. To my surprise, he pointed that the donburi 1-1 was only for the premium donburi and NOT for the other regular donburis which were NOT part of the lunch deal β they were ala carte donburis that we can purchase during the dinner service so I donβt understand how it was a lunch deal to the restaurant. Worse thing is the 30% was only available for the SHARING PLATTERS, but on the app it clearly stated βnot valid with 1-1 dealβ which is reasonable but itβs basically inaccurate advertising that deserves a further compliant because it is unethical to use the Burpple platform and yet deny customers any use of the Burpple vouchers when they had already arrived at the resto. The food and service was good and we did not complain with the staff as I suppose company policy is not his fault, but this is highly unethical and Burpple should look into ensuring that the resto isnβt lying about their offers stated on this app as we have paid for Burpple subscription, how can the restaurant claim that every page on their menu that is NOT a lunch deal is still a βdealβ except their premium bowls? And how can they indicate NO EXCLUSIONS on their 30% off total bill but inform guest that this is only for sharing plates but not mains? Why not for mains if they didnβt exclude on Burpple? Dishonest.
After enjoying myself at the recent Burpple #Eatup hosted by the good folks from Saketoshi, I was back to check out their regular menu.
Saketoshi serves a really good 1-for-1 donburi deal from Monday to Thursday nights. We really enjoyed their deep fried pork belly donburi. The pork belly is first braised (a la buta kakuni). It is then deep fried to give it a crispy crust whilst the pork belly retains its melt in your mouth goodness.
This was tbh surprisingly good!
a lovely combination of shoyu sea urchin, seaweed tempura and truffle caviarππ Creamy, crispy, salty - a perfect appetiser to go w the rice bowls.
While this bowl lived up to its name, offering premium toppingsβ¨ like mentaiko mayo scallops, eel and foie gras, Iβd recommend going for the πππππππππ ππππ πππ ($ππ)(not pictured) instead! Vvv tender and juicy beefπ₯©, served w truffle mayo and caviar. Price is also reasonable esp if u have burpple membership
