Try visit during weekdays, lesser people shorter queue time. I visited on Friday night dinner time, went in without any queue. The choices are very extensive. The staffs are very attentive.

Their satay gravy is still one of the more flavourful ones (think spice and peanuts) in the city. The only drawback is the queue but they are open till 1am so get in later and you’ll be guaranteed a space within a couple of minutes.

so interesting to eat satay in the lok lok way but you don't want to stay in here for too long because (1) the place is so hot and it doesn't help that the stove heats up the metallic table and (2) you can't eat too much of this cos very jelat 😌

I've heard lots about Lok Lok and I love satay sauce so I was pretty excited to try this out despite all the scares about the generally unhygienic cooking method. (Turns out I was more bothered by the many houseflies instead). We queued for around 20-30 mins which wasn't too bad, and there was always staff who will be checking and stirring the satay pot. Taste-wise, the sauce wasn't what I had expected though; this was a lot more peppery than I would have preferred and I was hoping it was slightly sweeter and smoother.

The satay sauce was indeed worth tolerating the mosquitoes while queueing along the road. The fried dough fritters were my favourite and next highly recommended item was their beancurd skins. Both items tend to absorb a lot of the satay sauce goodness which was more towards the sweet side!

Famous in Melaka for its satay celup. It's lok lok but dipped inside satay sauce. Beware of the que. It can be quite long.
