Roasted chicken shouldn’t be this juicy, but at COOP COOP (formerly Raw Kitchen Bar), they have managed to find that magic formula to achieve a rotisserie chicken so good it puts finger lickin’ good to a new meaning. The menu is pretty straightforward whether you want the Half Chick or Full with a platter add-on which comes with a variety of dips, salad and pita bread. The RKB classics such as the Black Mamba is still in the menu, which is another highly recommended squid ink fried rice dish to order.
Especially liked the use of Tamarind that gave these a tangy flavour. Really unique take on Brussel Sprouts and I defo enjoyed them!
Overall pretty decent and worth a visit esp for the vibes, altho it's slightly pricey imo. Also, since they're located near Rochor River/ Kallang River, you can defo have a nice stroll here after your meal 😉.
Didn't hold much expectations but this was really fork tender?! The flavour of the sauce/ glaze also isn't your usual BBQ sauce, but it's defo flavourful and worth an order if you're here!
If you're looking for a nice place for dates/ gatherings with good vibes - @rawkitchenbar would be an option to consider!
Black Mamba ($25++)
Their famous Black Mamba that everyone raved about. NGL this squid ink fried rice somehow really reminded did claypot rice, not sure if the fermented chilli sambal played a part, or it could just be the skillet ðŸ¤. I noticed they've changed their plating, which also kept the food warmer for a longer time, so that's great!
A little lacklustre, the Thai Choux Puff ($12/ 2 pcs) wasn’t very impressive but the earthy Thai tea ice cream was wonderfully rich and aromatic. The puff was a tad soft and didn't offer much flavour.
As for the sweets, the Banana Torrejas ($19) really hit the spot with the delightful caramelized banana slices (sweet and slightly nutty). The French toast logs were pillowy-soft and fragrant with a nice hint of cinnamon. Dusted with powdered sugar, the plate was not too cloying even with the drizzles of maple syrup as the tanginess of the fresh raspberries and the pool of sweet raspberry jam were very complementary. The coconut crumble was a tad dry though so I would definitely go with the add-on of their coconut sorbet for $4 if I order it next time.
