Pizzaexpress has three different half-and-half pizza combinations and the giadiniera/funghi combinations is one of them! Both pizzas are tomato-based pizzas and they are made served as thin-crust pizzas so you don't have to worry about getting very full from this dish. It is just enough for two pax to share it!

To be honest, we think the only difference between the giadiniera and the funghi is that the former also adds on basil leaves and pesto sauce! Otherwise, the two pizzas are essentially identical - mushrooms and cheese atop a tomato-based pizza! The pesto sauce was great but it would have been great if more was used for the giadiniera as there are some parts that were not covered by the sauce. Mushrooms could have been more generous as well since they are not as expensive as meat and are supposed to be the main part of the dish.

Overall, we think both sides of the pizza were too similar and we would have preferred something more contrasting so that we can taste different flavours. Missed the old days when Pizzaexpress would let us mix and match any flavours that we like. 😰

Restaurant was rather empty on a Tuesday evening and dining environment was tranquil! We strongly recommend if you would like to have a get-together in a larger group and you don't want to be chased out right after finishing your food!

PizzaExpress's garlic bread comes with a twist - it is coated with a generous amount of stretchy mozzarella cheese! In addition, the bread comes with a decent amount of garlic butter, although we would have loved it if the garlic flavour were even stronger! Also, the exterior of the bread wasn't really as crispy as we would have thought most garlic bread should be and that part was a slight letdown for us.

On balance, it is a decent (and really affordable) appetiser but we might go for their dough balls next time as we really love their dips!

Tandoori chicken! Spicy chicken with yoghurt sauce. Between tandoori chicken and laksa pizza, I still prefer the laksa pizza

Laksa pizza and tandoori pizza from pizza express for national day special!

As much as I like the laksa pizza from @pizzaexpresssg , I was disappointed once again at my second visit to the duo outlet.

Was attracted by the min spend $50 get $25 off promo (which lasts still 8 Aug 2021). Paid about $28 for these two pizzas! Promo is only for pre order for self collection using oddle. Had pre ordered one day before only to end up waiting almost 1 hour for the pizzas to be ready! It seems to be that the outlet was just prioritising delivery orders and walk in orders (which didn’t have the promo).

(In my last visit in 2017 at the same outlet, the restaurant also missed out on our order and we had to wait more than 30mins while diners after us got their laksa pizza before us!) seems like 4 years later nothing has changed and the system is still bad 🙁

So if you wish to enjoy this deal, be prepared to wait up till 1 hour. Or perhaps pick an earlier collection timing and hopefully your pizza is ready by then?

Layered with Rendang sauce, and then topped with chunks of beef rendang, red onions, red chilli and cilantro
