We have walked past Moonchild many times while at Jalan Besar area! Finally visited this cafe for our Vday celebration!

Here is what we ordered:
-Scallop Rose Mafaldine ($23.90++): This was good!! Seared scallops with gochugaru pink sauce! Loved the unique mafaldine pasta too!
-Stock Pot Chicken & Gruyere ($21.50++): Decided to order this as we had something similar as this at at Cafe Neptune and we absolutely loved it! But hmm, we cant' say the same for the dish here. While the chicken, mushrooms and herb potatoes were all good. We found the ciabatta bread given to be bitter in taste? We enquired the first time and we were told the herb sauce might make it bitter. So we decided to try it without dipping it in the herb sauce.. But it was still bitter.. After we gave the feedback, we were given another new plate of ciabatta bread... and it ended up still tasting slightly bitter to us (but not as bitter as the first plate we were served with). So this whole ciabatta experience affected our enjoyment of this dish!
-Hot Matcha Latte ($8++): Decided to get a hot drink as yes I am still down with post-covid cough after 3 freaking months! Lol when the cuppa of matcha latte was served, my jaw dropped haha. It is my first ever cup of matcha latte where the matcha powder is not whisked properly such that it still clumps together..

Food aside, I liked the ambience of the place though! Check out their toilet for their very interesting water tap.

No reservations allowed here, so you can only walk in!

Went to Moonchild for dinner tonight and ordered their Grilled Chicken & Hummus Sandwich, Peking Chicken Burger, an Iced Matcha Latte, and a Double Chocolate Mousse Cake (Total $71 for 2 pax after GST and Svc Charge)!😇

Overall ratings 10/10! Sandwich reminded me of my favourite Salad Bowl - Heybo, and was very filling! Matcha Latte was Milky and the Burger had a unique twist to it due to the Peking sauce😍 Chocolate cake was also moist and satisfied my sweet tooth😁 Would definitely visit again!

This might be an unpopular opinion but I will not recommend Moonchild unless you are there just for the hype. The Burnt Brussels Sprouts, as the name suggested, were literally burnt and needed salt for flavour. The Fried Potato Stack was burnt too. Luckily, the Dan-Dan Noodles was good but it costs $21.

Double shot strong brew coffee; not bitter or milky..

Deconstructed mushroom toast; sourdough is cut into small pieces then buttered toast to crispy outside while retaining the soft & fluffiness inside; grilled mushrooms are crunchy & mixed with soft spinach; drizzled with creamy mushroom sauce, sprinkled with shallots & crispy sourdough crumbs; topped with 2 well-poached egg; wish there's more mushroom sauce to go with the toast; otherwise a dish worth a try..

Knife-cut noodles tossed in scallion green sauce; crispy pork belly is lean & infused with mala taste, not spicy but has the numbing sensation; with chopped braised mushrooms, grilled mushrooms, chopped long beans, shredded cucumbers, chopped scallions & onsen eggs; tastes of ingredients complement each other well; unique fusion dish worth a try..
