Really good waffles that fits well with the pistachio and dark chocolate ice cream. Waffles were on the thicker side, not super buttery but slightly crispy. The dark chocolate is a little on the sweeter side while the pistachio had a nutty texture to it. Would return to try their other flavors!!

The waffle is crisp outside while inside doughy, the pistachio is very light, meanwhile the yuzu champagne taste much better, stronger and refreshing.
💰$19.6 with one coffee.

Thick, powdery and milky with a solid whisk. One of the better Matcha you can find.

I ordered the pistachio and rum and raisin, in a cup. Both are premium flavours so it was a total of $10. I enjoyed the ice cream and will be back. The rum and raisin was not very rich in rum but I still liked it. Pistachio was rich and contained pistachio bits.

Only downside was that the staff were not friendly/helpful and barely said a word. I think this aspect can be improved on to provide a more pleasant experience to customers.

Ice-Cream establishments seemed to be opening one after another these days; recent openings include the new outlets of The Humble Scoop at Stars of Kovan, The Better Scoop in Serangoon (formerly known as Just Because Creamery at Victory8 along Jalan Legundi in Sembawang) and Holy Cow Creamery at North Bridge Road. Then, there is also the new Moin Moin Gelato amongst other various new establishments — whilst being located in Blk 930 Yishun Central 1 and a short walk away from the Yishun Integrated Transport Hub (i.e. Yishun MRT Station, Northpoint City and Yishun Bus Interchange), its location is pretty much away from the hustle and bustle of the neighbourhood town centre.

It was hard deciding between the tea-inspired flavours of London Fog and Oolong Tea but I eventually settled for the latter probably because of how the said tea is my usual bubble tea order whenever I hit up a bubble tea joint, which felt more relatable to me. Indeed, the Oolong Tea Gelato here tastes pretty much to what I had expected — the tea notes aren’t particularly hard hitting on the bitter notes but there is a distinct aroma that starts off the first few mouthfuls with a complimenting creaminess that is akin to that of having a “macchiato” esque mousse mixed into the oolong tea. Liked how they did their own waffle cones here — got mine freshly-prepared since I visited them during night time and they were in the midst of preparing some while they were out of cones; the cone not only being sufficiently crunchy whilst not being overly thick, but also looked pretty neat and consistent with the same shade of brown throughout.

Yishun has been a neighbourhood known for having quite a number of ice-cream parlours especially of the late, with names such as Holy Cow Creamery, No Horse Run, Bloom Artisan, Hyogaki, Overscoop etc. all scattered within the deeper neighbourhoods of Yishun. Moin Moin Gelato’s location in Yishun Central 1 would probably appeal to those who are less likely to wander within the neighbourhoods — they also do carry options like the “Avalanche” and “Banana Split” which they have not yet started serving during our visit; also noticed that they do intend to serve bakes such as brownies and chocolate cakes as well. No doubt, another option for ice-cream within Yishun that is worth considering going for.

Found this gem of a place tucked away in the corners of Yishun. Moin Moin is a gelato shop that offers the usual classic flavours like Cookies & Cream, Matcha to more intriguing ones like White Chrysanthemum and Osmanthus Lychee. The latter caught my eye and it certainly did not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed the fruity sweetness which goes along well with the subtle floral notes. Was glad I ordered this to go with my Dark Chocolate, which could be a little heavy and the Osmanthus Lychee helped to change things up a little.

The waffle was crispy on the outside, and doughy on the inside 💯 the temperature contrast of cold ice cream and hot waffles is pure bliss guys, it will always be one of my go to desserts!
