($6.90) I finally tried their ramen after trying their rice and bibimnoodle since my friend always order this most of time. But I find that their ramen was quite hard a bit and still got "q" texture. Pork was quite tough texture tbh.

($7.50) I felt that their sauce was mild spicy but a sweet note aftertaste. I alr tried their different food since last year. The bibmabab got a lot of vegtables such as bean sprout, cucumber, carrot, lettuce, pork and seaweed. It come with side dish (kimchi & anchovies) and free flow miso soup with purchase of any mains.

Grilled Saba Fish + BBQ Chicken
($8.50) I finally tried their BBQ Chicken with Grilled Saba fish (best of both worlds) for people who wanted to try different two sides instead of one side. Their BBQ chicken marinated with sauce was quite tender and not that hard. Fish got really freshly cooked taste and coated with sauce.
decent affordable meal!! q crowdrd because they share the space w yatkayan, but that means u can get the best of both worlds๐ซถ๐ผ๐ฅ
($7.50) I didn't expected that they didn't come with meat inside the kimchi soup. They got tofu and also kimchi. I felt that their soup got quite light texture and also mild spicy for me. I realised that I was going back for their korea food too since last year.
($6.90) it's quite nice as I opt out for non-hotstone version as the weather was getting hot each day and it's a long time to eat there since last year Oct 23. bad thing that the sauce inside the bibmbab they already added to mix through and don't felt too much spicy. The bibmabab got a lot of vegtables such as bean sprout, cucumber, carrot, lettuce, chicken and seaweed. I really enjoy to mix bibmbap with fried egg together. It come with side dish (kimchi & anchovies) and free flow miso soup with purchase of any mains.
I decided to try other dish (Saba Fish + BBQ Pork) ($8.50) and didn't expected that they increase pricing since last month via google search. :") inflation sucks tbh as 9% GST increases next year ownards. But then good thing I went early for lunch hours before 12.30 p.m. you expected long queue to wait for 30 mins for ordering food tbh. I saw the signboard show hot stone bbimbap (as previously I have tried before) and saba fish were best selling dish on the store. Saba Fish with lemon usually removing fish smell before consuming whereas BBQ Pork marinated with sauce. I kinda disappointed by the serving size tbh :"O but then they give more kimchi and marinated anchovies for sides. Saba Fish got really freshly cooked taste and garnish with sauce whereas BBQ Pork was slightly salty tbh.

A really affordable Korean place at Fortune Centre that always has long queues during lunch. Donโt fret, manned by a friendly Korean man, the queue moves fast and there are plenty of seats. The Bibimbap portion (with your choice of meat) is generous and it never fails to hit the spot. Add extra meat at $1 more!
This place also provides free flow seaweed soup.
Had this BBQ Pork Set ($7.50) and quite cheap and decent in CBD. Nothing much to complain about
Overall a very flavourful and tasty dish and portion was decent. The gojuchang sauce was just enough, not too spicy, and the vegetables were fresh and crunchy. It came sizzling hot so the bottom rice might get a little charred which was delicious. They even gave kimchi and anchovies side dish, and free flow miso soup which very nicely complemented the bibimbap.
Fuss-free meal at Hangawi Korean Food which serves homely Korean fare at food court pricing.
While the BBQ Chicken Set ($6.90) is on the sweeter side as customise to the local palate, their Spicy Doufu soup ($6.50) is a satisfying dish to have today. Egg tofu with meat and clams, might be small but you get the kick of spiciness. Grab a bowl of seaweed soup (self-serve) to go along.
The place gets quite packed during lunch and dinner. But the best part is Yat Ka Yan is just next door.
Chicken ginseng soup ($9.50) x Beef set ($7).
Worth every penny! The soup was so full of ingredients, this bowl can easily cost 20/30$+ at regular korean restaurants. There was half a chicken included.
Beef was well marinated, tender.
Both dishes came with rice.
10/10 would make this a regular lunch spot if I worked nearby.
As promised, here's a follow up post on the one particular dish which we really enjoyed at Hangawi last Sunday.
Hangawi's soondubu-jjigae (์๋๋ถ์ฐ๊ฐ) was really good and warms the cockles of our hearts. The broth hit all the right notes, striking a good balance between spicy and savoury. We loved that they used a slightly firmer tofu which gave the dish a lot more texture. I am not 100% sure but it could be egg tofu as there was a subtle "eggy" aftertaste.
This is definitely one dish I highly recommend you check out when you are there!
Fortune Centre is well known for being a mecca for vegetarian food so you might be surprised to find a little hole in the world eatery which serves homely Korean food at food court prices.
Located on the 2nd floor, there is always a queue outside Hangawi. For $6.50, you get a decent portion of hot plate bbq chicken or pork. Flavours-wise, it has been "localized" to suit the local palate as the sauce is on the sweet side. I will however recommend their bulgogi beef stew which is both sweet and savory.
If you are looking for really affordable homely Korean food, Hangawi definitely meets the bill though I would personally recommend Kim Dae Mun.
That said, I was at Hangawi yesterday and really enjoyed one particularly dish which I will definitely be back for. Needless to say, just keep a lookout for my next post!
Decent amount of tender beef slices inside with free flow of equally delicious miso soup bonus.
No matter how many times I've tried I can't seem to take a good picture of this incredibly delicious food ๐ญ Really missing the authentic bulgogi and soooo happy that I've just find myself a remedy. Actually wasn't planning to grab Korean for lunch but I'm glad I did ๐
