Quite reasonably priced for the tenderness and flavourful beef cheek! Went because of 1 for 1, ended up ordering this dish because we couldn’t resist. Sauce is sweet and tangy with generous amount of mushrooms.
The duck was delicious! Beautifully presented as well. The meat is very soft and tender with crispy duck skin. I enjoyed the dish! The only down side I find is the truffle mash potato that comes with it. I felt the truffle taste is too overpowering that covers the taste of duck. I might go back if I crave duck confit.
The pork belly is made to the right texture. The taste was good and the sauce that comes with it suits perfectly. The plate only includes 2 pieces of pork belly, loaded with veggies so if I didn’t have 1 for 1 I wouldn’t buy it. Though I must say it taste good.
Went to try out this place because of Beyond 1-1. However I failed to notice that it was Main + side deal and the sides were honestly on the high side relative to the cost of the main (Truffle fries $9++, Truffle mash $7++). Worked out to be $12.60 per pax for Main + side, which is still OK I would say. The main that I had was really tasty though. The pork was crispy with good amount of fats (not too much), the accompanying veg were tasty as well. They also have different offers for lunch and dinner on each day of the week, and also 1 free pasta with 3 pasta ordered as well. Bonus: Charlie Goh dropped by for lunch.
Duck Confit & Foie Gras ($24.90)
.
Duck confit @hungerskitchenbyarome served with truffle mash, orange, mushroom, cherry tomatoes, duck jus, broccoli and a generous slab of foie gras which is done just right. The price point is made even better with #burpplebeyond ‘s 1-for-1 deal. We went with the pan seared salmon that came with 3 pieces of salmon on a bed of brown rice risotto.
The absence of a crowd really doesn’t do justice to the tasty food served here! When we went, there were barely anyone else but trusting the good reviews on Burpple, we took a chance and came out belly happy!
The generous amount of salmon was super moist and skin seared to a nice crisp. It lay on top of a cheesey brown rice risotto-esque base that was yummy too. Coupled with a side of well-dressed fresh greens, made for a satisfying meal. And don’t forget to use #BurppleBeyond here!✌️(also, head to Tom’s Palette for dessert after!)
