Hub & Spoke Cafe is one of the spots that had been most talked about in 2020 — being a cafe that is located within the compounds of Changi Airport, Hub & Spoke Cafe is a dining location that is not situated in any of the terminals of Changi Airport nor within Jewel Changi Airport. It is instead located just a short walk away from Changi Airport Terminal 2 slightly past the carpark / coach bay, being situated outside of the building and along a park connector that leads to Changi Airport Terminal 4 just before the Jurassic Mile. The area that Hub & Spoke Cafe is situated at is named as Hub & Spoke — this is essentially a bicycle rest-stop that comes with bicycle parking lots, shower facilities and a washroom that allows one to actually connect to Changi Airport via foot or by bicycle, hence the namesake; Hub & Spoke Cafe is essentially the cafe that operates in the locality. Hub & Spoke Cafe is run by the folks behind Roast & Toast Singapore; an dining establishment similar to the style of Toast Box / Ya Kun Family Cafe that used to run a now-defunct location at Buangkok Square. Much has been talked about the glasshouse-like vibes of Hub & Spoke Cafe; the establishment is otherwise rather simply-themed with its retro theme that is reminiscent of colonial black-and-white houses with a slightly more modern look. The menu at Hub & Spoke Cafe is split into various categories; available from 7:30am to 4pm on weekdays and 7:30am to 11:30am on weekends would be the Toasts, while western-style Breakfast is served from 8am to 6pm on all days. Pastas and Mains are served from 11:30am to 8:00pm everyday; Local Delights are served all-day from 7:30am to 8:00pm. Sides are served between 11:30am to 6:00pm everyday, while Bar Bites are available only between 6:00pm to 8:00pm everyday. The selection of beverages available at Hub & Spoke Cafe includes local-style Kopi & Teh, as well as a line-up of milkshakes, juices and special concoctions using a green tea based dubbed as “Signature Green Tea” on the menu.
We have had quite a bit of difficulty deciding on which item to go for during our visit at Hub & Spoke Cafe — we made our visit to Hub & Spoke Cafe on a weekday evening; we also had a number of items that are listed on their Local Delights section of the menu at other establishments during the days before the visit to Hub & Spoke Cafe. Wanting to go for something light, we eventually settled for the Truffle Crab Roll that is listed on the “Mains” section of the menu available only between 11:30am to 8:00pm everyday — the dish is also being listed in the “Recommended” section of the menu at Hub & Spoke Cafe as well. Being a dish featuring a roll, the Truffle Crab Roll comes with a bowl of the Soup of the Day on the side — it appears that the Soup of the Day that was served during the day of our visit was a Pumpkin Soup. Coming in a brioche roll, the Truffle Crab Roll was pretty much a crowd-pleaser; first look of the dish was how the brioche roll comes stuffed with a good portion of truffle-infused crab meat that is filled to the brim. Taking a bite into the Truffle Crab Roll, the first few bites were actually pretty appealing — this was definitely an item which was created for truffle lovers, considering how the first bite already came with the distinct hint of aroma that perfumes the entire mouthful. Some might actually find the truffle aroma here a tad overwhelming; it does mask up some of that natural sweetness of the fibrous shredded crab meat, though we would reckon that truffle lovers might not mind much about this. Whilst it does seem that butter was being spread on the brioche roll before it was toasted, we do feel that the brioche roll gets a little dry around the ends as one is about to finish the roll; we did leave some bread behind as a result. The Pumpkin Soup that is the Soup of the Day was pretty pedestrian — tasted rather commercial and a little generic.
Despite being an establishment that is being named as a cafe, Hub & Spoke Cafe has never been intended as a spot that is all about a gastronomic experience through beautifully-plated breakfast plates featuring premium ingredients that are served with specialty coffee — what lies in the concept of Hub & Spoke Cafe is a family-centric establishment serving up both local and western fare that resonates to the both the young and the old. The best way to describe how Hub & Spoke Cafe as it is would be to say how it does seem to feel very much like a Han’s Union / Han’s Cafe / Hanis Cafe & Bakery — one with albeit lesser variety considering how Han’s Union / Han’s Cafe / Hanis Cafe & Bakery does also serve up wok-fried fare; something which Hub & Spoke Cafe does not carry. Apart from the Truffle Crab Roll, we also had a Fish & Chips as well — one thing worth commending about the Fish & Chips was the portion size of the fish that it came with; considering how big the plate was, the portion size does seem particularly substantial and would work out well to be shared amongst two pax. The Fish & Chips was rather decent; nothing too much to comment on especially given the sort of establishment which Hub & Spoke Cafe is. We also went with the Kopi; the Kopi here would work out especially well with those looking for a cup of local-style Nanyang Kopi that is not particularly sweet; this one had evident notes of coffee with a good balance of milk without feeling like it came excessively sweet from too much condensed milk being poured into it. Prices of the items listed in the Mains, Breakfast, Pasta and Local Delights section of the menu at Hub & Spoke Cafe ranges between $7.90 and $29.90; most dishes being priced below $20, and the dishes that are priced above $20 are items featuring the use of beef. We wouldn’t say that the food itself at Hub & Spoke Cafe is worth making a trip down there for, though it does work as a fairly decent stopover after a cycle around the Jurassic Mile for some food and drinks.
Got their Tokyo farm ($14.90) which is a less common brunch item: a mountain of tater tots mixed with cheese 🧀 and ham 🍖✨ with a runny egg 🍳 on top! OOF FACTOR MET 💯

what a cute place! it’s frequently visited by cyclists after the dinosaur park and has a family chill macs vibe :> i got the crabmeat pasta which had generous fillings of crabmeat smothered with a garlicky, slightly thin sauce, but i wish the pasta could be more al dente. my fam also tried the nasi lemak with chicken (~SGD9.90) and though it was expensive for a plate of nasi lemak, it was SO WORTH IT bc the chicken was flavourful, tender and huge 👍 most of the stuff here are
Dropped by to chill over BBT…
The chrysanthemum tea seemed freshly brewed on the day itself but I wish the layer of fluffy cream froth was as good as the one from KOI.
