This stall serves both hokkien mee and lor mee. The hokkien mee comes with a spoonful of chilli which really enhances the taste of the rich broth. Normally a big lor mee but enjoyed this version which is relatively light and not as starchy.
The Hokkien prawn mee was served in an umami broth that was so good that we drank everything up! Go early to avoid the long queues.
Really rich prawn flavour that can only come from hours of slow cooking with lots of prawn head. It was slightly spicy to give added kick. The extra RM2.50 for siobak (crispy roast pork belly) was very worth it as the meat was real tender and the skin was crispy.

When you are here for the famous Hokkien Mee, you will notice there is another famous stall directly outside that sell Wanton Mee. Please take note that due to manpower shortage, you are required to order, wait and collect your food yourself.
Fun fact 101: When Penang people talk about Hokkien Mee, they might not talking the same thing as what you think. In Penang, Hokkien Mee means prawn mee. Penang is well-known with scrumptious local foods, but this is the best prawn Mee I had so far. The restaurant is located in Georgetown, same row with Kwong Wah Yit Poh. Was having too much of local foods, so ordered the Hokkien Mee without noodles. What makes them special is they will add on Siu Yok (燒肉) into the soup. However, due to they have to handle large number of customers, they charged RM0.50 per pcs of Siu Yok. Other than that, they also serve with pork belly, pork skin and prawns. The soup is very well cooked and strong in flavour, especially after you mix with the chili. There always have long queue, even it is late night. Make sure you be ready for a long wait.
Penang's version of the Hokkien noodle is a spicy red noodle soup with thinly sliced pork, prawn and egg.
