not super gao but still enjoyable! expensive thoπŸ₯² my fav part of this drink is def the cute dollop of cream on top

Finally made our way to hellu coffee for their famed Matcha Creamu! I’m all for how cute it looks, but I wasn’t a fan of how it leaned a lot more sweet and milky πŸ₯Ί Found the matcha a tad too powdery and it was very overpriced for its portion. Props to the friendly service staff though!

Got my usual office mid-day peak-me-up, Hellu Coffee’s signature Matcha Creamu as well as their Sesame Cream Croffle ($7.90) for the very first time. I must admit I wasn’t very sure about the sesame cream as it was pretty light in colour (it's a far cry from the thick and dark goma paste we are familiar with). However, their rendition was spot on, not too in the face with the nuttiness yet distinctive and flavourful. The airy, smooth cream infused with specks of sesame was earthy and wonderfully fragrant - great with the delicately crisp-chewy and buttery croffle.

As coffee aficionados, we ordered the Black Creamu ($8.20) and the White Creamu ($8.70 for iced). Aesthetically IG-worthy as they came atop with dollops of smooth sweet cream and dusted with cocoa powder. The Plain Croffle ($5.50) was buttery sweet with a light crisp to it and a slightly chewy texture.

$7.50
Matcha was really smooth. The Cream on top is slightly sweet and doesn’t taste greasy. But it’s quite a small cup for the price tag…

Even though it's been around for quite some time now, the crowd on a weekday afternoon was impressive, and it took about 30-45min to get a table, with several visitors choosing to purchase takeaways instead.

Feeling extremely lucky to snag a seat outdoors (albeit super warm with no Aircon), I settled for these:

πŸ’šπ™ˆπ™–π™©π™˜π™π™– π˜Ύπ™§π™šπ™–π™’π™ͺ 🍡πŸ₯› ($8.90) - Unlike the gorgeous cream peaks that adorn most IG photos, the cream on mine arrived flat, probably having sat around for some time before it was served. πŸ₯² Thankfully, it was still flavour packed, and although it is priced a little on the steep side, the grassy and slightly sweet 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉𝒂 🌿 was a great tongue pleaser. Couldn't say much for the cream since I couldn't taste much texture, but I did enjoy the dusting of π‘ͺ𝒐𝒄𝒐𝒂 π‘·π’π’˜π’…π’†π’“ 🍫which subtly elevated and enhanced the drink as a whole.

πŸ₯πŸ§€π™ƒπ™–𝙒 & π˜Ύπ™π™šπ™šπ™¨π™š π˜Ύπ™§π™€π™›π™›π™‘π™š ($7.90) - A comforting combination of savoury π‘―π’‚π’Ž 🐷, π‘ͺ𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒔𝒆 πŸ§€ sandwiched in a buttery π‘ͺπ’“π’π’Šπ’”π’”π’‚π’π’• πŸ₯, you could never go wrong with this combi! πŸ‘πŸ»β™₯️

However, as much as I enjoyed my visit with their yummy food and great service, I probably wouldn't make a special trip down again, unless I happen to be in the area... 🀭
